This excellent apartment receives good reviews for being very good value for money. It is in a great location within walking distance to 3 beaches and everything the resort has to offer. It is a 3 min walk to the shops,restaurants and bars and 5 min walk to the nearest beach, Son Moll. Walk through pine forests to Cala Agulla beach and take the beautiful coastline walk to Cala Gat. Walk to the marina to see the amazing yatchts or take a boat trip, there is also a ferry to Menorca. The marina is full of holiday atmosphere, choices of restaurants and bars with wonderful sea views. Join the locals and tourist alike for an evening stroll and soak up the atmosphere of Cala Rajada. The promenade with it's ice cream parlours and coffee bars extend to the marina. The views are breath taking when the sun shines on the crystal blue sea. All the beaches can also be reached by car with parking available.
The main road through Cala Rajada has plenty of shops, many very sophisticated. There is also a market in the square every Saturday. Cala Rajada was originally a fishing village and retains much of its old character. There is plenty to do with lovely walks in and around the resort. Walk up to the lighthouse to see amazing views.
A car is not necessary as everything is within walking distance of the apartment. You can book a bus from the airport on www.resorthoppa.com and there are tour offices in the resort for excursions. However, it can work out cheaper to hire a car for the whole of your holiday as this will transport you to and from the airport and allow you to tour the beautiful island and surrounding coves.
A holiday in Cala Ratjada will appeal to a ll, as this can be as relaxing or lively as you choose with the many facilities available. The resort will appeal to all holiday makers, historians, golfers, cyclist, walkers and bird watchers.
The apartment is a good size for a one bedroom with double fitted wardrobes in the bedroom and the entrance hall. The apartment is good value for money as it includes air conditioning in both the lounge and bedroom an important feature when most other apartments only supply ceiling fans. The air conditioning is great for the hot mallorcan summers and also supplies hot air for winter heat. We receive good reviews from clients and many return year after year.
Situated on the ground floor but with a few steps leading down when you enter the block. The apartment consist of a hallway which has a guest cloakroom wc and hand basin. The hall leads into the lounge dining area and an open plan kitchen is off the lounge. There is a large bedroom (1 double bed) with an en suite bathroom, with bath, shower, wc and wash basin. Note there are two WC's and wash basins in the apartment . Also two large double wardrobes. The kitchen has a two ring electric hob and is equipped with many utensils. There is a separate laundry room with sink, washing machine and laundry equipment off the kitchen. Please see list of facilities and features below.
There is a small balcony to the rear of the property and a terrace to the front with table, four chairs and a parasol ideal for breakfast, drinks or just relaxing.

There is an additional cloakroom with W.C. and wash basin as well as the ensuite with W.C. Bath, shower and wash basin. The air conditioning has hot and cold air. Beach towels not provided.
The Balearic Islands region

Cala Ratjada / Rajada
Cala Ratjada is a great find and does not appear in many English holiday brochures. Cala Ratjada has 4 local beaches and in high season there is a resort mini train which runs by road from Son Moll a sandy bay with beach bars and hotels to Sa Font de es Cala another sandy cove with water sports and facilities and also to the much larger beach of Cala Agulla which has pine forests leading onto the beach.
One of the features of this part of Mallorca is the dramatic jagged coastline and numerous sany coves. Most of the beaches have been awarded the prestigious blue flag by the European Union for their cleanliness, facilities and water quality.
The stretch of the north east coastline around Cala Aguilla and Cala Mesquida has been recognised for its special ecological and environment value. The Balearic island local government have declared the area as a specially protected bird sanctuary, and is one of the few places where pine forests still overlook the sea.
The old spanish town of Capdepera is 2 kms inland and has a 13 century castle. The inland town of Son Severa is also very quaint and interesting.
Local facilities: 3 of the best Golf Courses on the island are within 4km from the apartment (Canyamel, Roca Viva in Capdepera and Pula-Golf in Son Servera). Nearest golf course (Capdepera) is a 7 min drive. Other activities: Horse riding, tennis, a diving school, boat trips, sea fishing and much more.

Please note the positives of this review. Clean apartment, good location and good price. The apartment is well maintained and well equipped. The community has appointed a new administrator which we trust will improve the appearance of the block. The apartment remains reasonably priced and good value for money as other reviews comment.

"Lovely apartment, but unclean pool."
The apartment was lovely and clean and in a great location. It was, as advertised only a very short walk to the beach, shops and restaurants. The restaurants and bars ran along a promenade which followed the sea coast around from beach to beach. I cannot fault the apartment, its location or the area. However both the two pools advertised were very unclean and unsafe to use. They were both a dark shade of green and had significant amounts of rubbish floating on them. The owner has assured me that she was unaware of this problem but I would recommend that if you were looking to rent this apartment and wanted to use the pools, that you check before you leave that the pools will be fit for use.
I pay a community charge for the pools so therefore was unaware that they were not in use. The apartment is no longer advertised with swimming pools and the rental cost has been reduced accordingly. I am pleased this guest and others have confirmed the apartment and location are very good.

"Great little apartment"
My other half and I really enjoyed our 10 days here. The apartment isn't exactly a mansion but is perfectly adequate for two people and although there is only one bedroom, the second bathroom really helps. The kitchen is usable for simple things but you're probably not going to be able to pull off Michelin star cuisine. The pool is nice but make sure you go early in the morning as it can get fairly busy in August in the evening hours. If you are very noise sensitive then this is probably not the place for you as you can hear noise from the main road (although it's better with the window closed).
Again we had a great time and would recommend this to a couple, even a couple with a small baby.
I would like all prospective renters to note the positives of this review and the rating provided. As the owner I am very pleased with this review and my only comment is the apartment being air conditioned means it is not necessary to open windows if there is concern regarding any noise from the main road. Personally I have never been troubled by noise from the main road and there are many residents living in the apartment block all year round.

"Great value apartment in a beautiful area, ideal for couples"
We stayed at this apartment for a week in September 2011. The rental was sorted easily, all queries were answered promptly and the deposit was refunded with no issues. The apartment is in a residential block in the resort, only 5 minutes walk from the beautiful promenade. The apartment itself was clean, extremely well equipped - possily the best we've stayed in that respect. It was located very close to a large well stocked supermarket which was ideal. For the money we felt it was extremely good value.
The resort is predominately German but it was quite nice to experience a different country and pick up a few German phrases here and there - but English was spoken everywhere so language wasn't an issue.
The promenade is beautiful - with many restaurants serving a very high standard of food. We particularly enjoyed La Bodegita, Mamma Pizza, Euforia and Cafe Noah. We also hired a care and extensively travelled the east side of the island.
