The Menorca region
Menorca is the most northerly of the Balearic Islands. In summer it enjoys a warm dry climate, but avoids the temperature extremes of the Spanish Mainland - with summer highs of around 32C.
The local authorities have made great efforts to avoid over-development and much land is set aside as greenbelt. The island, which measures 25 by 8 miles, is therefore picturesque, tranquil and unspoilt. Menorca also boosts many beaches - ranging from the secluded to those equipped with water sports and every modern facility.
Cala'n Porter area
Calan Poter is a modern resort offering the full range of facilities, including a number of bars, restaurants and shops. A particular plus is the outstanding Cova den Xoroi nightclub, which is built in to the rocks over looking the Calan Porter bay and headland.
The resort’s sandy sheltered beach is a favourite among visitors and locals and especially good for children. The island’s main airport and capital, Mahon are around 15 minutes by car or bus.
