NOW TAKING BOOKINGS FOR 2009
One of two identical pretty villas enclosed in a 500 square metre private plot. One of the villas is occupied by Jose and Vicki, the owners. We also run a large bar called Flava´Bar, in the main road of the Resort, that is open till late and serves food, so most of the time we are away from home, so guests can enjoy their privacy.
Villa has been recently completely refurbished and equipped and now has a modern stylish feel, it is situated on a very quiet urban street, yet within 5 minutes to resort centre and access down to the beach.
There is Air Con (optional), Safe, Smoke Alarm, Fire Extinguisher, Sky tv, etc......
We are keeping the same prices we had for summer 2006, however this winter the villa is being fitted with AIr conditioning, we are making this optional to the guests, (operates by remote control, so we leave the remote in the villa if booked by guests, or we remove it.). If you book without Air con, the prices are the ones stated in the Tariff section of this website, if you do wish to book with Air Con, you should add £50.
If you decide you want to book without air con and then once here you find it hot :-) you will be more than welcome to decide you want to have the air con, and just pay us the cash here.

The Menorca region
It was named Minorca by the Romans meaning the "Little One" compared to Majorca the "Large One." The first evidence of occupation on Menorca dates from around 2100 BC and the earliest structures are believed to be, the navetas, (looking like an upturned boat) and are approximately 3500 years old. Between 3000 & 3500 years ago, fortified towers were built by bronze age people, and more than 200 of their strange towers stand to this day.
Menorca is just 25 miles long and 17 miles wide, with a few mostly laid back beach resorts and around 120 beaches, thats more than the rest of the Balearic islands together, coves, bays, and harbours around the rocky coastline. There are several excellent prehistoric sites and places of historic interest, including grand Menorcan country farmhouses.
Mahon has been the capital of Menorca, since the British changed it from Ciutadella in 1721. The reason was the harbour; at 5 km long, over 1 km at its widest point, and 15-30 m deep, it is the second largest natural harbours in the world, this coupled with its location in the Mediterranean has made it a strategic stronghold for many nations throughout history. The city of Mahon was named after General Magon (Hannibal´s brother) a Carthaginian invader.
The port itself is relaxed by day and buzzing by night. The bars and restaurants along the quayside come alive at night and it is easy to spend many hours down on the port, watching the ships, admiring the view, enjoying the hospitality of the restaurants, or just sat taking in the atmosphere.

Cala'n Porter area
A large resort by Menorcan standards and one of the oldest on the island. Cala’n Porter is situated on the south coast, in a magnificent setting on the cliffs above a large deep beach. It is easily accessible by both car and bus, and offers everything a visitor could want from a holiday resort.
This is a busy fun resort, with a wide choice of shops, bars and restaurants. Situated on the south coast of the island, it has a horseshoe shaped bay and large gently shelving sandy beach with cliffs on each side. The resort has something to offer for everyone, whether it is a relaxed beach holiday or a lively holiday spent dancing the nights away in the many local bars, being the recently open in Summer 06 Flava´ Bar, the favourite of the holidaymakers. The famous “Xoroi” discotheque set in natural caves halfway down in the cliffside overlooks the sea and is perhaps the liveliest discotheque in Menorca. Calan Porter is always popular as it caters for people of all ages. The resort is set back from the beach set into the cliff face, or by the road from the centre of the resort. Everything is on hand, from well stocked supermarkets to bars/ restaurants catering for all your needs.
There is also a brand new Pharmacy and a Hair dressers.
Bars and Restaurats serve everything from fast food to typical Menorcan cuisine. Some of the best chefs on the island work in Calan Porter.
Cala'n Porter can be described as being lively, with plenty of modern bars and restaurants, and also has the largest and most beautiful and original night club on the island, built in to a natural cave, Cova den Xoroi. Set high in the rocks, it's a cave bar with fantastic sea views by day, that you can visit and enjoy a quiet drink and a beautiful and amazing sunset. From 11 hours turns into a night club, with nights like Urban Flava Menorca, and Foam party, however the caves its situated 15 to 20 minutes walking distance (may be more on your way back !!) form the Villa so there is no problem with noise guaranteed !
We have taken on a large bar in the main street of the Resort, called Flava´ Bar, opens from 6.30 pm in the evening, and closes at 3 am for food ( real doner kebabs included!) and the large inside music-bar closes pretty late. So remember the best place in Calan Porter is Flava´ Bar !!!!!!
Seven buses a day run into nearby Mahon during the Summer months. The distance between Calan Porter and the island´s capital, Mahón, is only 13 Km, (15 minutes drive), and some 10 minutes drive to Mahón`s airport.
Visit my website link below for more info about Menorca and Calan Porter.
