Cottage | 1 bedrooms | sleeps 2
Between mountains and sea in North-East Sardinia, there is a small village with an amazing countryside and wonderful beaches. Our cottage is set amidst the picturesque settings: the ideal accomodation for nature lovers.
Our property is cosy and very well equipped with good quality traditional furnishings. It can comfortably accommodate up to 2/3 guests: it is ideal for a couple or for a small family (there is a double bed and we can provide an additional bed for a child). Towels and linen are provided upon arrival. The living area (kitchen and relax corner) is tastefully furnished to suit casual holiday living without sacrificing Sardinian style. The back-door of the property gives a private access to the swimming pool, solarium with deckchairs and barbecue situated on the outdoor deck. Private parking is available for our guests.
Dorgali overlooks the amazing Gulf of Orosei. The coastline here is spectacular with cliffs and beaches notable being the Bue Marino Cave. Dorgali also houses important archaeological evidence.
The region is also known for sports (trekking and clinbing), its wine and traditional food, the craftwork in filigree and leatherwork.

The Sardinia region
Nestling at the foot of Mount Bardia, Dorgali is ideally situated between the sea and the mountains. Its coastline is a succession of small coves, such as Cala Luna and Cala Fuili, where the remarkable Bue Marino cave is home to the last colony of Mediterranean monk seals. The village is also an ideal base for those fond of biking, free-climbing (we suggest the Cala Fuili bay about 10 km in the south of Cala Gonone) and trekking. Our property is located at the beginning of the most interesting tracks!
Moreover Dorgali is known for its handycraft, especially for leather and ceramic works, and its tastefully red wine, the Cannonau. Traditional cooking and pastry are the best point in Dorgali.
Enjoy local products and traditional inland Sardinian food: superb meats, cheeses, sausages, olives, bread and Sardinian gnocchi (as second course we recommend the local wild boar, called "su sirboni": tasty delicious!), special desserts such as pistiddu, aranzada, pabassini and tiliccas.
The limestone mountains of Supramonte are crisscrossed with many footpaths which permit the discovery of an extremely varied fauna and flora. Along with these natural assets, Dorgali also has a rich archaeological heritage, to which is dedicated a museum concerning the presence of the Nuragic civilisation (1800 to 500 BC) in this area.
Located about 10 km away from Dorgali one can visit the prehistoric village of Serra Orrios and the giant's grave of Sa Ena e Thomas. Another interesting sights is the Tiscali cave which houses another Nuraghic village and can be reached with expert guided trekking tours.
Worth a visit surely the Ispinigoli cave: with 38 m one of the stalagmites is the highest in Europe!

A lovely cottage full of character and rustic charm. The photographs on the website really don't do it justice. It is well equipped, spotlessly clean and well run by very friendly and helpful ow… More

"Good, but some issues"
We met the owner at a petrol station in the town and followed her to the property. It would be tricky place to find otherwise. There were biscuits and a bottle of wine to welcome us which was a nice t… More
It is a shame when guests do not apologize when they cause damages! We always keep carefully clean the pool and the solarium where the hand-made wooden chairs are, so we noticed that these guests had hidden the chair they broke! We put the damaged chair in front of the house, hoping to be told about it for the whole week...unfortunately they never did and upon departure they where very happy about their stay. When we asked about the chair they told they broke it but it was not a great damage. To be honest, they should tell also we charged half of the price of the chairs being locally hand made! I think this is the reason of the other complaints too: our watchdog is well trained and its area is very far from the rental; about the bedding, we will certainly check it and replace it if it's damaged!

I was a little bit worry when I have found this cottage on the Internet, but I have to say all communication over the e-mail was absolutely smooth. The payment process as well. The additional information were delivered with no fault.
When arrived to the Dorgali we were warmly welcome by Franca and her husband, they have shown us around and explain all important details. Complimentary bottle of wine and local sweets with welcome letter was a nice touch.
Cottage itself was spotless clean and pleasant, with outstanding view from the terrace. Also we had own pool and BBQ.
The area around Dorgali is full of things to do if you don't want to stay only on the beach 7km away. From hiking, visiting historic sites to the best kayaking on Cedrino lake.
One of the best holiday stay in recent years. Definitely would recommend and hope that we will be able to come again
Thank you very much for your review. It has been a pleasure to have such delightful guests at our home. Whenever you would like to come back you will be the most welcome! All the best, Debora & Franca
