Outdoors
Outside there are extensive sun terraces, with shaded areas around the 9m x 4m swimming pool, which benefits from roman steps and a separate children’s paddling pool. A poolside shower, patio furniture, sun beds and a brick built BBQ are provided. The mature gardens at the rear stretch down to overlook the resort from the top of the cliff. Off road parking is available on the drive.

The Cala Galdana area
Villas in Cala Galdana
The lovely resort of Cala Galdana is located on the south coast of the island and is centred around one of the most beautiful pine clad bays on the island. The large horseshoe shaped bay of Cala Galdana with crystal clear waters and gently shelving pale gold sand is ideal fro families. A small wooden bridge over the river, which flows out to sea, makes a most picturesque setting. From here it is possible to walk along the headland and explore through the pine forests.
Cala Galdana holidays offer something for everyone; whether you prefer to soak up the sun on the beach, hire a boat, take a gentle stroll through the shaded pine clad headland around the bay or try your hand at diving, with a PADI approved training school, then Cala Galdana has all this and more to offer. The children's waterslides on the beach make this an ideal destination for families with younger children. Everything is close at hand with a good choice of bars, fine restaurants and shops within the resort. Family nightlife is provided by the local hotels who offer evening entertainment to all comers.
From Cala Galdana it is easy to get around this small island. Drive East to the capital, Mahon and the Airport or West to the old town of Cuidadella in approximately 40 minutes or head North to explore the quaint little towns and villages with their own cottage industries and fine off the beaten track restaurants.

We had a week at the Villa Forit with our family comprising children and grandchildren. The villa is set in a quiet residential area high above the Cala Galdana beach affording wonderful views across the whole bay. The walk into the village takes about 25minutes and is quite steep in places. This is not a problem for the fit and able but nonetheless a car is adviseable. The villa itself is on 2 levels with 3 bedrooms on the ground floor and 4 on the 1st. There are bathrooms and kitchens on both levels. The style is very much in the old Spanish style with plenty of dark ceramics and oak furniture. It is well fitted out with ample facilities and well equiped kitchens. Bedrooms are all of a reasonable size but the beds which are pine framed could do with updating. They are quite poor. Outside and to the front is an excellent swimming pool with a seperate childrens area, but it is that view that really makes the Villa Florit a little bit special. We all enjoyed it and would certainly go again, especially if the beds are replaced |
