Apartment | 2 bedrooms | sleeps 5
Welcome to the beautiful south-east coast of Mallorca and to our apartment in
the Bella Luna residencia in Cala Egos!
Whilst Cala Egos is a small, compact resort in its own right, it is generally
considered to be part of Cala d'Or. Cala d'Or is a bustling yet cosmopolitan
and laid-back destination eminently suitable for families and couples alike
and, in addition to Cala d'Or, comprises the 'calas' (coves) of Cala Gran, Cala
Ferrera, Cala Esmeralda, Cala Serena, and Cala Llonga - which today is
home to the fabulous Marina.
Our apartment is in a small complex of apartments and townhouses called Bella
Luna. In an enviable location in Cala Egos, it enjoys peace and quiet yet is
only minutes from all the facilities that Cala Egos has to offer. Bella Luna
offers a fabulous lagoon-style pool, possibly the largest in the area, with pool
bar, tennis courts and pool table - all in a secure gated environment, making it
ideal for families and couples alike.
Apartment 14 is a ground-floor, 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment with a
fabulous secluded garden which is in the sun for most of the day. It has a
large terrace - part of which offers shade throughout the day – and comes
complete with patio table & chairs and 4 sun-loungers. Modern, clean and
extremely well equipped, our apartment has been furnished to feel more than
just your usual holiday accommodation, and is perfect for both short and

The Marina and Cala d'Or
The Marina is about a 10 -15 minute walk from Bella Luna. Long before it became a Marina it was a cove and fishing port known as Cala Llonga, a name that is still used today. It is also known as Port Petit. You can still see some of the old fishermen's houses with their brightly painted doors further around the Marina. A leisurely stroll around the Marina will take you past a large variety of classy restaurants, cafes and bars, all enjoying great views of the Marina. Here you will find all manner of leisure craft, many of which would require a sizeable lottery win to buy! If you have kids with you take some bread to feed the fish!
As you turn the bend at the end of the Marina you will see a flight of steps. If you take these, turn right at the top and them immediately left onto Carrer de ses Calabreses. You will come to the edge of the pedestrianised area of Cala d'Or. Alternatively, don't take the steps but carry on walking around the Marina and, just past the Jolly Roger, follow the road (Avda. De Cala Llonga) up where, after a few hundred metres, you will come to Cala d'Or centre.
Cala d'Or has more restaurants, cafes and bars than you could ever wish for. As far as food goes just about every taste is catered for: Spanish, Indian, Thai, Chinese, Tex-Mex, Italian, Tapas. Booking is advisable in high season, particularly if you want a table outside. Various bars have live music and there are a couple of nightclubs. In general, the atmosphere is relaxed and laid-back. You won't find packs of lager-louts here. Cala d'Or also has a nice selection of boutiques and shops which open late. There is mini-golf, a Burger King for those that absolutely must, and an annual Jazz festival.
