The Mallorca/Majorca region

Majorca, the largest of the Balearic Islands, has been well known as an exclusive holiday destination for the past 50 years, known as the 'island of eternal spring', with an average annual temperature of 20ºC. It has a surface area of 3.640 km² and 555 Km. long coastline as its main attraction with its beautiful beaches and coves, called 'calas'.

350.000 of the 745.000 inhabitants distributed throughout 53 municipalities, live in the capital Palma de Mallorca which offers the treasures of a long history, such as the famous cathedral or the castle Belvedere. Breathtaking nature and an important cultural heritage since prehistoric times, offer many activities for the holidaymaker.

Cala Antena area

Situated next to the picturesque beaches and coves of Cala Domingos Grand and Cala Domingos Petit. Within a 6 km radius you will be able to enjoy other European Blue Flag beaches offwering fine sand and crystal clear waters, such as Cala Antena, Cala Mendia, Cala Anguila, Cala Romántica, Cala Murada and more, all with beach service facilities. The coasts are of spectacular beauty. Within the district of Manacor an area of 32 km2 is listed as ‘Natural spaces of special interest’, and 40% of the Calas de Mallorca area is unspoilt Mediterranean forest. At 5km from the residential development the renowned Val d'Or 18-hole-golf course offers fabulous views, overlooking the Calas de Mallorcas coastline.

The area has full range of service facilities, with 3 shopping centres and numerous bars and restaurants, post office, local public health centre, taxi and regular bus services to connect the area with the rest of the island.
From Cala Domingos excursions on glass bottom boats and coast roundtrips are very popular activities. Nearest hospital at Manacor, some 20 minutes' drive away.

How to get there

The island is linked to the most important European cities by plane and also to the Spanish peninsula by ferry. The most common arrival points are the Son Sant Joan International Airport, near the capital city, and the ports of Palma de Mallorca and Alcudia.

A motorway is currently under construction, linking Palma and Manacor. However, until the motorway is finished, the 50 Km. trip between the two cities is undertaken via the C-715 road. From here, take the exit to the PMV-4014, head southwards and follow the signs to Cales de Mallorca, where the residential estate of Valls de Cala Domingos is located.
