Recently finished (to an extremely high standard) a well maintained and presented 3 bedroomed apartment. Relax in homely and high class surroundings, much more pleasant than impersonal and generic hotel rooms. Wonderful open plan lounge and dining room with an excellent entertainment system and mood lighting. Spacious enough to accommodate a larger family but intimate enough for a couple. The kitchen is fully and professionally equipped with high quality utensils, wide range of pans, cutlery and storage. Fabulous entertaining space for up to 8 adults. Located in a quiet upmarket residential area of Cairo away from the hustle and bustle of traffic. An ideal base and safe for exploring the local area on foot.

The North Egypt / Cairo / Cairo region

Cairo and Egypt are renowned for their rich history particularly the Pyramids. Cairo has been central to Egypt's history for over 5,000 years.

Cairo is one of the world's largest urban areas and offers many sites to see. It is the administrative capital of Egypt and renowned for its Pyramids of Giza. however there are also many more pyramids near to the City as well as ancient temples, tombs, Christian churches, magnificent Muslim monuments, and of course, the Egyptian Antiquities Museum housing the world famous treasures of Tutankhamen.

Cairo is an amazing city full of life and movement, and it is that way almost 24 hours every day, with the noisy honking of car horns, children playing in the streets and merchants selling their wares and services. The City provides great culture, including art galleries and music halls, such as the Cairo Opera House. Cairo also offers an incredible selection of shopping, leisure and nightlife activities. Shopping ranges from the famous Khan el-Khalili souk, largely unchanged since the 14th century, to modern air-conditioned shopping centres.

Particularly good buys are spices, perfumes, gold, silver, carpets, brass and copperware, leatherwork, glass, ceramics and mashrabiya. Try some of the famous street markets, like Wekala al-Balaq, for fabrics, including Egyptian cotton, the Tentmakers Bazaar for appliqué-work, Mohammed Ali Street for musical instruments and, although you probably won't want to buy, the Camel Market makes a fascinating trip.

Cairo City / Heliopolis area

The Ministry area is part of the larger area of Sheraton Heliopolis And is a quiet upmarket residential area populated by government ministers (including the Presidents brother in law!). Close to the Sheraton Fairmont Hotel and conference centre and local shops and amenities.

There is both a Mosque and Church in the area. The hugely popular City Stars shopping centre is around 10 minutes away and contains a Hotel and Cinema complex, restaurants as well as 100's of shops both Western (eg Virgin, Timberland etc) and Egyptian plus a large hyper market.

Downtown (for Museums, Khan el Khaliki etc) is around 30 minutes away (about 18 km's)as are the Pyramids, the Nile and the Egyptian Museum.

The area is an ideal base for visits to Cairo - far enough away from the noise and dust of downtown Cairo but close enough to enable easy access.

How to get there

Direct flights daily via British Airways, Egypt Air and BMI. The property is 10 - 15 minutes from the airport. We do not recommend driving yourself in Cairo but can provide a car and driver for your stay; please ask for prices. Taxi's can be easily obtained on the main shopping street - about 6 minutes walk from the apartment.

This is simply THE BEST PLACE to stay in Cairo. I have stayed in this apartment twice now, and both times I have been more than impressed with the quality, value and convenince it offers. The photos of this apartment do not do it justice, and the luxury is honestly comparible to many 5* hotels I have stayed in in downtoiwn Cairo.

I would not stay anywhere else! Clean, comfortable and charming!

As a veteran of apartment rentals (Not a hotel fan) I was cynical that this was the usual overstated ‘5 star Egypt standard’ barely matching up to European 3 star. What a pleasant surprise to find the apartment measured up all round to 5 star European expectations. From a fully and professionally equipped kitchen, excellent storage in bedrooms, with comfortable full size beds and excellent soft furnishings throughout. Bathrooms so inviting you could wallow for hours (The wet room’s fabulous) A lounge and dining area to chill out in or entertain, all glassware, crockery and cutlery available, even nice touches like candle holders (candles too) and napkins. This backed up by multi level lighting for mood and ambience. I wish I had known enough people to throw a dinner party. Big bonus for us was the negative ion filter air conditioning, not mentioned in the profile but keeps the chest clear after those dusty days in Cairo traffic. No the pictures do not do it justice, but just book and enjoy the pleasant surprise that there are no surprises. Not just another rental, it’s a beautiful welcoming home from home. Truly an oasis in the madness that is Cairo, and if you need that madness it’s a short taxi ride away. Highly recommended, I know I will stay no where else in Cairo and be happy to arrange my plans around its availability.

I spent 7 days at the Sheraton Apartment the week I got married in Cairo (June 2009). One of the best parts of the trip was the apartment. Jackie was absolutely wonderful during the entire process. Not only was she helpful with our accommodations in Cairo, but he was very helpful with lodging suggestions for our honeymoon in Alexandria. The apartment itself is so charming and well appointed that there were a couple of days where we just stayed there playing cards, listening to music and watching movies all day. I think one of my favourite touches is the window boxes off the master bedroom and the dining room. The master has mint growing there and the dining room has jasmine growing so when you open the windows the breeze is scented...that was wonderful. We fully intend to call upon Jackie for the apartment whenever we return to Cairo to visit my husband's family as it is our new home away from home.
