Home description
Located on the Edgehill / Whitfield border, only a 10 minute drive from the Cairns CBD, and 10 minutes from the Cairns International and Domestic airport, is this freshly renovated and modern Queenslander (traditional timber style house unique to Queensland). The house is set in a private tropical garden with a large swimming pool featuring a waterwall. The pool is fully fenced for child safety. The house consists of 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms with 2 living areas and has covered verandahs front and back. It can sleep up to 8 comfortably. The yard is fully fenced with the backyard adjoining a private reserve. The front entrance opens onto the lounge and then through to dining, kitchen and family room. This part of the house looks out to the outdoor dining on the verandah and over the back gardens. The laundry is equipped with a front loading washing machine and dryer. The home is fully air conditioned. Towels and bed linen are supplied.
The home is located in a great suburb only 10 mins walk is local cafes, restaurant, vegetable shop/delicatessen, bakery, butchers, bottle shop, local IGA supermarket, beauty salons. 15 min walk is the tropical Flecker Botanical Gardens, a must see whilst staying here. The gardens has its own restaurant for breakfast and lunch. Tanks Art Centre, next door to the gardens, hosts a monthly Sunday markets and has various exhibitions. The Northern Beaches (Machan's Holloways's, Yorkey's, Trinity, Kewarra, Clifton, Palm Cove are approx.15- 25 mins drive and Pt Douglas is 45 mins. Lots of local attractions not far away. Cairns Wharf where boats leave from for Reef Cruises is within the CBD about 10 mins drive away.

The Queensland / Far North region
Cairns is the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef and has many different operators taking people out to the different parts of the reef daily for swimming, snorkelling and scuba diving. Kuranda is a 45 min drive from Cairns or take Sky-Rail up to Kuranda (cable cars) and return via the Kuranda train, all very scenic and great rainforest experience. The Northern Beaches of Cairns are not far, Trinity Beach, Clifton Beach and Palm Cove are about 20-25 min drive away and Pt Douglas is about 45 min drive. The Atherton Tablelands is about 1 hr drive, head up to Kuranda and then carry on to see the rest of the Tablelands. Lots to see and do is this diverse region.

Cairns, Edgehill is a lovely leafy area home to the gorgeous tropical Flecker Botanical Gardens, only a 15 min walk from the home. Behind the gardens are the Red (1/2 hr walk) and Blue arrow walks (2hr walk) up Mt Whitfield which will give you a great view of Cairns city and out to the ocean .

Cairns has an international and domestic airport with variety of airlines flying in/out. The house is only a 10 min drive from the airport and 10 mins from Cairns city. Car hire is available from the airport with Hertz, Avis.
