Palm Cove has a reputation for being a very romantic retreat. Its friendly tranquil atmosphere , soft sandy beach, numerous local excursions and vast array of adventure activities also makes Palm Cove the perfect destination for families with children of any age.
The apartment is brand new, located in the Grand Mercure Rockford Esplanade resort at exclusive Palm Cove, overlooking the Coral Sea. Privately owned, this two-bedroom apartment is spacious and beautifully appointed just minutes walk from Palm Cove beach and its many fabulous restaurants and boutiques.
The apartment includes; an open plan, living / dining area, adjacent to a fully equipped kitchen complete with European cooking appliances. When privacy is not required, open the four folding doors to reveal the main bedroom with king bed, exquisite linen, FSTV and adjoining en-suite.
The apartment boasts one of, if not ' the', largest ground floor private balcony at Drift , shaded by the most fabulous Melaleuca trees. The balcony extends across the whole front aspect of the apartment and can be accessed from both the kitchen/dining area and main bedroom. Duel aspect views favoured by many, include the lagoon style swimming pool and fresh water brook that can be both seen and heard gently meandering its way around the many twists and turns before heading over the waterfall in to the rock pool. For your comfort, sun lounger, coffee table and bench style chairs have been provided for you to relax and watch the world go by!
Although the apartment is privately owned, all of our guests have full access to all resort facilities, including Lagoon pool, gymnasium, spa pool, 5 star restaurant and business centre.

The Queensland / Far North region
Palm Cove is located in tropical, north Queensland, approximately a 20 minute drive from Cairns International Airport and 30 minutes from Port Douglas. It is an intimate coastal town regarded as the 'Spa Capital' of Australia, ideal for 'honeymooners', couples or families.
Palm Cove's Summer temperatures range from 31 degrees during the day to 25 degrees at night. Winter temperatures range from 26 degrees during the day to 17 degrees at night.

There is a wide range of activities waiting for you in Palm Cove and the surrounding area. A few examples are; diving, snorkeling, skydiving, rafting, bushwalking, horse riding, scenic flights with a helicopter, sailing, fishing, jet skiing, bungy jumping or go on a safari to check out the area. A trip on Skyrail Rainforest Cableway is something you will never forget.
Recommended local excursions are the Night/Tropical Zoo (5mins), Baron River Rafting (10mins), Rainforest Skyrail (15mins), Hartleys Crocodile Adventures (15mins), Daintree Rainforest (45mins) Cape Tribulation (1hr). A jetty on the beach takes you out to the reef with Quicksilver tours, excursions run daily. Full range of watersports are also available on the beach
Bus transportation to Cairns and surrounding areas is regularly available as are hire cars.

Local buses runs every half hour to Palm Cove.

Although concierge is not included, hotel reception staff are on hand to welcome you and offer their assistance should it be required. Additional mid stay room cleaning is also available by arrangement direct with the hotel reception (service not included). A complementary shuttle bus is available to transport you to shared facilities.

Opposite the hotel you have a mile long palm tree lined beach which is child friendly and has full watersports on offer to hire. Along the end of the beach is a jetty from which daily Quicksilver tours journey out to the reef for snorkelling or scuba trips.

Gorgeous, luxurious accommodation and still big enough for a family of four!! Loved the outdoor Jacuzzi and swimming pool and the white sandy beach was perfect. Exactly what we were looking for. The Babysitting Service meant that my husband and I could enjoy time together as well. Close to Cairns and Kuranda for outback horse riding for the kids (and adults). We hired a car from the hotel and drove up the beautiful coastal road to Port Douglas. Australia was a once in a lifetime trip but we will now definitely be back to Drift within the next 3 years.
