The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur region

Cairanne is situated north of Avignon and is surrounded by the winefield of the Côtes du Rhône. In less than 15 minutes you are in Orange with its enormous Roman amphi-theatre; possible to visit (guided or not) every day and during the summer months it opens her doors for concerts and opera. More Roman remains in Vaison la Romaine's museum and another amphi-theatre offering ballet and concert, classic as well as pop. The Dentelles de Montmirail 'Mons Mirabilis' (or impressive moutains) invites you to take part in several outdoors activities, like hiking, mountainbiking, horseriding and even climbing. Last, but not least (you cannot miss it) the Mont Ventoux, dominating the whole region with its 1912 meter.

Elegancy in cities like Avignon and Aix en Provence, canoe and swimming in the Gorge de l'Ardêche, rough wilderness in the Drôme, the pitoresque scenery of the Alpilles inspiring painters like Van Gogh, Monet, Cézanne, local markets every day full of colour and fresh products; you will find it all in a short distance.
