Apartment | 1 bedrooms | sleeps 2
The Castle apartment is near the railway station and the port, about 15 minutes (by bus) from the 'Poetto Beach', the historical lido of Cagliari. It's located within a minute walk to the most important historical buildings like the Cathedral, the Elephant's tower and the Bastion of Saint Remy, from which you can enjoy a breathtaking view over the city, surrounded by the blue sea.
Our location is very special for who intend to live the real Sardinian's atmosphere. The neighbourhood Castello is enriched by the studios of artists and goldsmiths, by the originally shops and characteristic bar. During summer evenings Castello takes on a party atmosphere, with aperitifs, festivals and concerts for unforgettable nights...

The Sardinia region
The island of Sardinia is in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea, between Corse and the Tunisian coasts.
With its 24.090 square kilometres, including the smaller isles, it is the second Italian island, after Sicily; its maximum distances are 270 km from the northern extremity (Capo Falcone) to the southern (Capo Teulada), and 145 km from its eastern extremity (Capo Comino) to the western (Capo dell’Argentiera).
It is divided into eight provinces: Cagliari, Carbonia-Iglesias, Medio Campidano, Sassari, Olbia - Tempio, Nuoro, Ogliastra, Oristano. Cagliari, the chief town, where the regional administrative offices are, is situated to the south. His coastline, 1897 km long, is about a quarter of the Italian coastal total length. There are no mountain ranges, except for Gennargentu, where the island’s highest top, Punta La Marmora (1834 metres), is.
The climate is Mediterranean, characterized by hot long summer and short winter; Mistral is the prevalent wind

The capital of Sardinia is a large and modern town. It consists of various old and new quarters, a wide harbour and different economic activities, closely connected to all its near villages. In Cagliari there are also an intense vehicular traffic, an active trade and lively cultural relations, thanks to the presence of the university and of the regional government, as well.
The harbour of the town is placed in front of the old Stampace and Marina quarters. In 1995 the Commune of Cagliari gave orders to create a large Harbour-channel at the opening of the S. Gilla’s pond, although nowdays it is not working at all. Eastwards, there’s the fantastic tourist harbour called Marina Piccola, situated not much far from the famous beach Il Poetto, dominated by the imposing Devil’s Rock. Cagliari has another small harbour, Su Siccu Harbour, placed in front of the characteristic Basilica of Bonaria.
The historic centre is the most interesting part of the town. In particular, the famous quarter Il Castello, positioned on a hill in the middle of the town has a very old history, as well as the Stampace, Villanova and Marina quarters.

"Beautiful apartment, perfect location, great value"
I would definitely recommend this for any couple looking for a romantic holiday in a beautiful town at really good value for money. The apartment has everything you need and you're a walk away from lots of great restaurants. Monica the owner is lovely, she helped us find our way to the airport and made sure we had everything we needed.
