The North Wales / Snowdonia / Gwynedd region
The coastline of North Wales is mostly rural with a number of seaside towns lining the coast from Rhyl to Pwllheli. Scattered among them are medieval castles built by Edward I. Many of these castles are remarkably well preserved, none more so than the Caernarfon Castle where the investiture of Prince Charles took place. Dinas Dinlle beach is an award wining beach with miles of sand and dunes. The Snowdonia National Park, founded in 1951, was the first to be designated in Wales with mighty Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa), Wales highest mountain, at 3560ft (1085m), dominating northern Snowdonia and being the most climbed mountain in Britain. Bardsey Island (Ynys Enlli) lays just off the tip of the Lleyn Peninsula - a site of pilgrimage for Christians through the ages.
Caernarfon / Nantlle area
Caernarfon, Porthmadog, Criccieth & Pwllheli in the Lleyn Peninsula are all within easy reach of the hamlet of Nebo with a varied and interesting mix of activities and attractions on offer - from boat trips to interesting historical tours, from mines to beaches, Roman Forts and historical Castles, mountain walks to steam railways.

Guestbook for Plas Hafod Cottage
"This cottage is a gem in the crown of Snowdonia's mountains and places to be. Your love and attention to detail, with which you have prepared it, is astonishing. It certainly is one of the best places we have seen anywhere. It is a peaceful and beautiful refuge at the foot of the hills, and the sunsets, observed from the kitchen window or the front of the cottage are just breathtaking! ...." Irena & Jini, London
"We have really enjoyed our stay in your beautiful little cottage. It is very well equipped and comfortable, it has been a joy to stay here and enjoy the fantastic views. We will take back home many happy memories of our stay" Neil & Steph Robson, Morpeth
"Thank you so much for the use of your delightful cottage, we can honestly say that during the past 10 years we have been visiting this area of North Wales it is the best one we have stayed in! We have had a very peaceful and relaxing 2 weeks here ... looking forward to coming back here again next year ..." Diana & Alan, Soham.
"Thank you both for the opportunity to spend this past week in your wonderful cottage. You welcomed us with such kindness and sincerity to make us feel very much at home. This is a lovely location, within such easy reach of the Peninsula, the climbs of Snowdonia ....... You have both been so thoughful about re-fitting the cottage, taking time, trouble and the expense to add so many neat touches that helps lift Plas Hafod out of the ordinary. Lovely to come back here after our days out ....." Jeff & Wendy, Buckinghamshire.
"" have to thank you for making the cottage such a beautiful place to stay in. Everything I needed (and more) was there. It was so nicely furnished and decorated. And, last but not least, the views from the cottage were gorgeous" S Schneider, Oberkochen Germany.
