The Gwynedd region

A wealth of activities to tempt you - all on your doorstop!

Snowdonia is one of the best outdoor activity destinations in the UK, from climbing, hiking and abseiling to watersports - sailing, canoeing, rib rides, wind surfing, wake boarding and much more.

The stunning landscape of Snowdonia provides perfect cycling opportunities, from mountain and downhill biking to cycling along the Lon Eifion Cycleway.

Caernarfon Air Park offers a bird's eye view of Snowdonia in helicopter rides. Or you could try hang gliding or paragliding with Snowdonia Skysports.

For the fishing enthusiasts Snowdonia offers lake and river fishing, or head to one of the many local beaches, or even out to sea for off shore fishing.

With 20 golf courses and 4 driving ranges, golfers are offered the challenge of parkland golfing to seaside links courses.

Explore the fantastic scenery on horseback from riding centres in a variety of locations.

The estuaries and coastline, mountains, woodlands and valleys of Snowdonia ensure a bird watchers paradise.

There are many award winning beaches on Anglesey and the Llyn Peninsula, to sit back and soak up the sun!

Directly from your cottage you can join the Bryngwyn Slate Trail, taking you to the quarries above the village or down to Tryfan Junction on the Welsh Highland Railway, which runs from Caernarfon to Porthmadog. It is a request stop - hold out your hand to stop the train! Just one of several railways on which to enjoy spectacular scenery.

There are many museums to visit, telling the history of North Wales, from copper mines, to Roman forts and slate museums, along with National Trust properties and the many castles built by Edward 1 - Caernarfon, Harlech, Beaumaris and Conwy are a good place to start.

And while on your stay why not try the local delicacies - from seafood to cheese, and not forgetting the many local beers!

Time your visit for one of the many festivals held each year. The Welsh Highland Railway Rail Ale festival and Santa Special trains, county shows, town and food festivals. Not forgetting the Wakestock festival held in July in Pwllheli.

And at the end of a long and enjoyable day why not kick back on the patio of your cottage and gaze up at some of the 4000 stars visible on a clear night. The perfect end to a perfect day.
