The Normandy / Calvados region

The Normandy region of northern France combines a 360-mile dramatic coastline, including the dramatically evocative World War II landing beaches, with a verdant interior of lush farmland and lively market towns. It is also home to numerous historical landmarks such as the cities of Bayeux, Caen and Rouen. Gastronomic delights are aplenty, from fine cheeses to cider, wine and Calvados.

The largest military landing in history took place in Normandy June 6, 1944. Museums, Monuments, bunkers and cemeteries are a lasting tribute to the Battle of Normandy, a unique experience and a must see.

A perfect base from which to tour the famous beaches, the little town of Bayeux is built around the magnificent Cathedral of Notre-Dame and is home to the 200-foot long Bayeux Tapestry, a world famous work of art whose cartoon-like scenes portray the epic tale of William the Conqueror's expedition to England in the 11th century.

Paris (203 km) — Bordeaux (586 km) — Toulouse (825 km) — Caen (40 km) — Le Havre (48 km) — Rouen (91 km).
From Paris: A13 motorway to Pont l’Evêque, then drive towards Caen for 5 km and take exit no. 29 at “La Haie Tondue”. Continue towards Caen until Annebault, then turn right to Villers-sur-Mer. On arriving at Branville, turn left towards Danestal and follow the signs for the Garden Club.
