Glan Gwna is a holiday village on the edge of Snowdonia, near Caernarfon, comprising of a variety of accommodation styles in a landscaped 200 acre park. The park is tastefully laid out with a large fishing lake, woodland walks and the River Seiont meandering its way through the estate.
The Accommodation comprises a three bedroom terraced property known on the park as 'Welsh Cottages'. These are built as three blocks, six in each, of terraced cottages each painted in pastel shades and having own small front lawn and parking space.
The Amenities The fishing lake is very popular with anglers who also have the choice of river fishing on the park. Fish available include Carp, Tench, Roach, Rudd & Bream. NRA licences and site fishing permits are required - full details are available upon request.
Free poolside bar entry is available to all hirers. The bar/food area enjoys a family atmosphere with a separate adults only section with entertainment provided most weekends in peak season.
A heated outdoor swimming pool is open from Whit-week until early September. Always very popular with the kids - advice is to use before lunch if you want a quieter swim!
The site also has a children's park, soccer pitch, shop and cafe.
Dogs are welcome if well behaved and have their own pet bed. However we ask dog owners not to lave their pets unattended in the property for long periods!

The Gwynedd region
Glan Gwna is just outside Caernarfon with good access to Snowdonia, Lleyn Peninsula, Anglesey and the North Wales coast.
There is plenty to do with local beaches, mountains and water sports all within easy reach.
Enjoy the history of Caernarfon Castle or the local scenery - best observed on one of the local boat or steam railway trips.
Cycling is also popular locally with some excellent bike tracks along the coastal and mountain areas.
The nearest town is Caernarfon situated just over a mile away.

PLACES TO VISIT FROM GLAN GWNA
We hope you will find this list of places to visit useful - information is supplied in good faith as given by the businesses concerned. When visiting attractions it is always best to phone first to check opening times as even in the busier months some venues are not open every day!
Please let us know if you find any new places that are worthy of a mention!
Plenty to visit within 30 minutes or so from Glan Gwna - here are some of our favourites:
Aberdaron - at the tip of the Lleyn Peninsula and well worth a drive out on a nice day!
Black Rock Sands/Borth Y Gest - Both outside Porthmadog and worth a visit. The former is a long flat beach where you can park on the sand. The latter is accessible only via a path from the car park but has lots of nice little coves.
Dinas Dinlle - The nearest beach to Glan Gwna, situated just outside Caernarfon, near the small airport.
Llanfairfechan - Just off the A55 heading back towards Llandudno. When sea is in the beach access is very limited although there are nice promenade walks and a nature reserve plus a sea front cafe!
Newborough Warren - Turn left after crossing Brittania Bridge onto Anglesey and about 10 miles further on. Beach accessed from large car park thus some walking required
Red Wharf Bay/Bennlech - close by to each other on Anglesey. Turn right after crossing Brittania Bridge and about 10 miles further on.

"For the cost at that time of the year, very good"

Thank you for your comments - we are pleased that you found the prices to be good value for the time of year.
We have always been a pet friendly holiday home as the park is ideal for dog owners with plenty of riverside/woodland walks. We do however have laminate flooring/tiles in all rooms thus even with pets staying from time to time this should limit the pet related issues. There is not a lot else we can do unless we are to ban them but as many of our hirers visit specifically because we are pet friendly this is not a route we would wish to go down.
We try and keep the 'maintenance equipment' out of view in the under-stairs cupboard which is really only ever accessed by hirers to turn on the water heater. This is the first time anyone has raised this as an issue in the 25 years we have been letting out but I will look at other storage options in future for 2015.
We did have a small dining area in the kitchen area in the past but decided this was too cramped thus converted to a breakfast bar instead. With the outdoor dining area now an option and there is also a large coffee table in the lounge for those wanting a TV dinner! Most visitors in the summer prefer to eat outdoors when the weather permits thus we decided that this was the best option given the limited space that these homes have.
As regards the cutlery our main concern is that there is enough and that it is 'fit for purpose'. There may be a few different mixes of styles but I don't think that is unusual for a holiday home.
