Home description
Trewood Cottage is a charming 2 bedroom cottage with beautiful views across the Cagwith Cove valley. It provides very comfortable accommodation and has its own patio and sheltered garden, which makes a lovely suntrap and provides seating to enjoy alfresco meals. The cottage features an art deco bathroom with a shower and bath and bespoke wood kitchen with granite worktops. In the living area there is a wood burning stove and french doors lead onto the patio area. The sea is only five minutes walk away so you are able to enjoy all the delights in the cove, where you can bathe and watch the daily activities of the local fishermen. Parking space is available next to the cottage.
You can enjoy freshly caught fish and crab in the Old Cellars Restaurant or in the Cadgwith Cove Inn, the local pub and social hub of the village. The Inn is the venue for a thriving Folk Club on Tuesday nights and traditional Cornish singing every Friday. In high season, seafood barbecues, fishing competitions, gig racing, a regatta and a folk music day are social highlights. If the car beckons then don't forget the Eden Project, St Michael's Mount, St Ives, Land's End are all an easy drive away.

The West Country / Cornwall region
Cornwall enjoys an excellent climate with very mild winters and summers that are almost Mediterranean in nature. This climate has in turn helped with the growth and development of a wealth of botanical gardens in Cornwall that have become renown worldwide.
Located at the southernmost end of the British Isle, in the county of Cornwall, the Lizard Peninsula is bordered on three sides by the sea, and the Helford River to the north. The name the Lizard is believed by some to come from the Cornish word “lezou” meaning headland. The National Trust owns a major proportion of the peninsula, and this helps in keeping it unspoilt and unchanged. Designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Lizard Peninsula has some of the most spectacular scenery in Cornwall.
There are many small coves, once used by smugglers to land their kegs of French Brandywine, and beaches to be found at the Lizard, and the South-West coastal path is very popular with walkers. When people come to the Lizard they are inspired by the scenery to write, take photographs and paint. Many people go there just to escape the hustle and bustle of their daily lives.
The Peninsula has a maritime past and many shipwrecks can be seen all along the coastline. From old barquentines and schooners, to steamships from the late twentieth century, even fishing vessels that capsized near the coastline, and old submarines rusting in the waves, are all just a part of the scenery
Cadgwith area
Cadgwith is a picturesque fishing village with whitewashed thatched cottages lining the sides of the valley and a small fleet of colourful fishing boats winched up on the shingle beach. The fact that the boats are still in use and the local pub (The Cadgwith Cove Inn) is renown for it's singing of Cornish songs of a Friday evening is testament to the traditional character of this village still being alive and well. The village also has a thriving gig club. Cadgwith featured in the film 'Ladies in Lavender'.
The cove has two beaches - the fishing beach where you can watch the daily activities of the fishermen. A small rocky outcrop called the Todden separates this from the adjacent (swimming) beach
