The Valenciana region
The Costa Blanca brings to mind images of idyllic beaches and coves in the Region of Valencia. However, the Costa Blanca also offers many other attractions that provide a careful blend of modernity and tradition.
Alicante, Dénia, Altea, Calpe, Xàbia and Torrevieja are all coastal destinations with an ideal climate for practising water sports and a special light in which to relax by the sea where you can enjoy a few fun-packed days of leisure. Further inland, nestled among beautiful landscapes, towns such as Elche, Orihuela, Guadalest and Alcoi offer a rich artistic and cultural heritage. Discover the popular fiestas and celebrations, delicious Mediterranean cuisine, art, modernity and countless activities and events that will not fail to impress you.
During your visit you may want to venture out from Cabo Roig and enjoy some of the other attractions on offer.
Torrevieja market – huge and a must see.
Aquópolis Water Park –Torrevieja, not as large as Aqualandia but close by (€6 for an extra day on exit).
Aqualandia water Park –Benidorm, Europe's largest
Terra Mitica Theme Park-Benidorm
Font de Algar Natural waterfalls in the mountains, fantastic day out for all the family. Lifeguards on duty at the diving points. Picnic areas along the route and restaurant at the end.
Guadalest Hill top monastery North West of Benidorm, be brave and go right to the top. Take an extra layer with you if you are there after the sun goes down.
The Casino in Torrevieja (now a restaurant) very old and picturesque. Have a traditional Spanish breakfast and watch the bustle around the port.
Take a boat trip from Torrevieja port to Isla de Tabarca for the day.
La Encarnacion (Hotel/Spa/Restaurant) Los Alcazareas (Mar Menor) steeped in history checkout the photos inside marking its past.
San Antonio (restaurant on stilts) Los Alcazareas, enjoy a meal or a drink anytime on top of the water.
Los Alcazareas La Manga/Mar Menor Strip largest inland sea in Europe. Watersports etc. The water is always several degrees warmer than the Mediterranean.
Try this: with a car travel South on the AP7 following signs for El Algar then take the MU312 to Los Belonis and then follow signs for Parque Regional Calblanque following signs for beaches (Calblanque or Largo) all un commercialised and unspoilt, so take your own packed lunch. Fantastic beaches and coves. Follow this with a short drive east on the MU 312 till you get to Cabo de Palos and stop for a meal at La Tana Restaurant followed by a drive up the La Manga strip or a boat trip by sail from Cabo de Palos port round the headland (2 hours). Depending on how quickly you want to travel round this could all be a 2 days itinerary.
A trip to the Rio Safari at Elche is a very rewarding experience and the kids will love feeding the animals and riding on the “train” through the park. Perhaps a round of golf is more your “thing”, there are three excellent golf courses nearby at Villamartin, Campoamor and Las Ramblas. Maybe you could take a coach trip to Benidorm (if you haven't hired a car) and marvel at the busiest seaside resort in Europe, or visit one of the regions historical cities, Cartagena, Murcia or Alicante have plenty of interesting sight to see, so don't forget your camera.
Cabo Roig a great place to be – no wonder they call it “The Jewel of the Costa Blanca”. Very handy for both Murcia (San Javier) and Alicante airports, Cabo Roig is situated on the N-332 coastal road between Pilar de la Horadada and Torrevieja. It can also be easily accessed from the AP-7 motorway, junction 763 (La Zenia) or junction 768 (Dehesa de Campoamor).
If you are thinking of heading to Spain and are looking for a seaside holiday, then Cabo Roig on the Costa Blanca may be just the place for you.
Located on the popular Orihuela Costa section of the Southern Costa Blanca, Spain, Cabo Roig is an exclusive and beautiful resort. There are plenty of great beaches to enjoy in Cabo Roig and also a good variety of bars and restaurants. The popularity of the resort is reflected in the increasing number of visitors who come back year after year to enjoy the sun, sand, sea and sangria.
The eye-catching 16th century watchtower, around which Cabo Roig originally grew, is now part of a restaurant complex (The CR Restaurant) which overlooks the recently modernised marina. An estimated 2 million euros was spent on the refurbishment of what is now one of the Costa Blanca's most desirable mooring spots.
One of the main attractions of Cabo Roig is its wonderful sandy beaches. The beaches along this stretch of the Costa Blanca coastline are very clean and most have “blue flag” status, Cabo Roig is no exception and its 2 main beaches (Cala Capitan and Cala Caleta) are clean and safe for children. Also within easy walking distance are the beaches at La Zenia, Playa Flamenca and Campoamor.
Be sure to try out the well known cliff walk which runs from Cala Caleta beach to La Zenia beach;this is an ideal way to spend an evening during the bright summer months and will provide a very welcome cooling breeze on those hot muggy days. The walk offers some picturesque views of the sea and coastline and there are some interesting coves to explore along the way.
On a visit to Cabo Roig you can generally expect warm, sunny weather and the area is blessed with over 300 days of sunshine every year. Summer temperatures are hot, but not uncomfortable, as Cabo Roig enjoys a cooling sea breeze, the winters are mostly sunny but with cool evening and night time temperatures – the average for the year is around twenty degrees centigrade. You will be unlucky to encounter rain but what does fall is usually during the winter months.
After a day in the sun most visitors head for the bustling Cabo Roig strip with its ever increasing selection of bars and restaurants offering food, fun and frolics to suit every taste. There are some excellent restaurants providing dishes from around the world including Spanish, Italian, Indian, Thai, French, Argentinian, Chinese, Mexican, Hungarian, German, English and Irish.
As an alternative to Cabo Roig try the Villamartin Plaza for more restaurants and entertainment 6 km away.

"Everything you need for a good holiday ( long stay)"
We went to this Cabo Roig Apartment for a 6 week break in March/April and we'd just like to say to thank you to Colin & Julie. The apartment had everything that we needed for a good holiday. We came out of the front door and there were pubs and shops on either side and leaving through the pool entrance down street opposite to a lovely promenade. What more could you ask for?? 5 out of 5 for the apartment - HOLD ON A MINUTE!!!! Maybe 4 1/2 out of 5 as watering the cactus's was very tiring 8) lol Thanks again for a good holiday.
Well what can we say but thank you so much for a lovely review. We are so pleased that you had a great time and fully utilised what Cabo Roig has to offer in those quieter months. It certainly has its own personality, which you fully embraced; walking to Zenia Boulevard isn't something we have done yet but aim to do soon. I believe that you were in Cabo Roig to see the opening up of the Coastal path which for us is very important in that it reduces the walk time to the beach and now offers a stunning walk any time of year from Campoamor to La Zenia. Thanks you for looking after our second home so well and you are welcome to return anytime. We are out in Cabo Roig in the next couple of weeks to do our normal refresh of equipment and to give those cacti some TLC. Thanks again

"Great Apartment; Great Area"
Fantastic apartment with a good range of equipment in the kitchen. Clean and tidy with a lovely balcony to enjoy breakfasts on! Weather was fantastic in June, up to 31 c! The children loved the swimming pool, in fact we barely left the poolside! Booking the apartment was fantastic. Great information from Colin and we were kept regularly updated with any changes. Clear instructions for how to use everything and a prompt response to any questions we had. The local facilities are all close by, within walking distance. Unfortunately I had to find a GP whilst staying for my daughter. I cannot sing the praises enough for the local medical centre. Again, welcoming staff who put us all at our ease and were helpful. Crisis resolved quickly thanks to their great care. Local supermarket was well stocked with everything you may want. Local bars and restaurants that we tried were all great and welcomed the children. All in all, a fantastic place to have a break. I can highly recommend the experience. Thank you Colin and Jules xxx
Thank you for such a comprehensive review and so many positive comments. Although it was a shame that you needed the services of a doctor, it is reassuring to know the local clinic, just 200 metres away, gave you such good service -praise indeed from a senior nurse! It is great for our potential guests to know that the booking process, apartment, pool and local bars, restaurants and supermarket were all of a high standard and welcoming. We look forward to welcoming you all back soon.

"What it says is what you get"
Started looking for a holiday for my Dad and his Partner who are 80 and myself 56. We all have walking difficulties and needed something central near to doctor and pharmacy. This property is ideally situated and everything the owners describe is just as it says in the literature. We had a wonderful stay hoping to go again next year. The owners were very helpful giving a lot of reading material so you felt very comfortable before you arrived. Apartment was clean and airey with all mod cons.
Thank you for looking after our apartment so well and for this very positive review which will certainly reassure future guests that they can book with confidence, knowing that everything we say about our second home is exactly what they will experience on their holiday. It is good for readers to know that the apartment, the aparthotel and area are entirely suitable for older/less mobile guests as well as for couples, families and friends of all ages. We look forward to your return next summer and hope to welcome your dad and partner for a longer winter stay in 2014-15.

"Handy little apartment in the centre of the strip"
We were a group of two couples and the apartment was a perfect size for us. Good location along the strip. The owners were really helpful with booking and getting there. Perfect for a week in the sun.
Thank you so much for writing a review with 2 'perfects' ! We are glad that you found it a perfect size and in a really great location to access all that the Cabo Roig Strip has to offer. We aim to be as helpful as possible to ensure that our guests are fully supported before and during their stay. Thank you for looking after our second home and we look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

A lovely well situated property close to beachs and ammenties. Apartment was well set out and equiped with everything needed for a vacation. Only negatives access code to property had changed, needs to be more communication between management and apartment owners on this. Swimming pool annual maitanence should really be carried out in the winter months (low season) was a huge disappointment and unable to make the most of the full amenities the aparthotel had to offer...shame.
We are pleased by the very positive things in this review about how lovely, well-equipped and well-situated the apartment is and what great value it represents. We have apologised to this guest about the key code change(the code is changed periodically as an added security feature) and ensured that any future changes are advised to us and communicated immediately to our guests. This will not be an issue for future guests. Annual pool maintenance is indeed carried out in the winter. Unusually this year, additional work was done March/April 2013 to ensure that the pool is in perfect condition and we are pleased to say that it is now fully functional (May 2013). We have offered this guest a discount for herself, friends or family as she has indicated that she had a lovely holiday and would like to return again in the future.

"Overall a great stay!"
I visited the apartment with my girlfriend in early July. The weather was fantastic and we spent most of our days on Cabo Roig beach just a short walk from the apartment. We ate out most nights at the various restaurants and loved the ice-cream cafe on The Strip. This is a great place to relax around the pool if you just want to stay in Playamarina 1. There's even a small bar by the pools. We did not hire a car but used a local taxi for a day out in Torrevieja where we shopped in Habaneras before heading into the centre of town for some Tapas. Overall this great apartment was an ideal base for a relaxing holiday.
Thank you so much for your review and we look forward to seeing you back again this summer. We are sure you'll love the new Zenia Boulevard shopping centre!

"Great for families with kids of all ages. Everything on your doorstep, shops/beaches"
My wife and I were looking for a simple week in the sun with our nearly-2-year-old son and this fitted the bill perfectly. The apartment was comfortable, easily spacious enough for the three of us, maintained to a high standard and child friendly. Also the information provided by Colin in advance was detailed and helpful. We spent most of the week by the pool which was very clean and perfect for young children with its shallow kids area. The location was ideal with a variety of restaurants to suit all tastes, a good size supermarket and a number of excellent beaches all within walking distance. Our son must have enjoyed himself because he was up at 5.30am every day eager to get back to the pool! So no lie-ins for us but otherwise a great holiday!
Thank you so much for this lovely review! We are delighted that you found our second home ' fitted the bill perfectly ' for you and your little boy. It is great to know that the apartment itself, the facilities in the complex and in the local area met all your needs for a very enjoyable holiday. Combined with all our other very positive reviews, your feeedback demonstrates that our holiday home is a highly recommended choice for families, friends and couples. You have been the perfect guests and we look forward to welcoming you back in the future.
