The Algarve region
Cabanas is situated in the Eastern Algarve which has over 3,000 hours of sunshine a year.Cabanas is a typical unspoilt fishing village tailor made for a relaxing family holiday.The village is situated on the Ria Formosa,a Nature Reserve with plenty of wildlife where there are beautiful coastal walks along the shoreline and you can take the boats to the lovely golden sandy beaches two minutes across the bay.The restauants,cafes and bars are plentiful and are as renowned for their meat dishes as the locally caught seafood cuisine.You are assured of a warm Portuguese welcome wherever you dine. Also opening this year is the brand new Jack Nicklaus Golf Course just down the road. Castro Marim Golf Course is a challenging course offering stunning views across the countryside. Within an easy 30 minute drive, you can play the Islantilla Golf Course which has hosted the Spanish Open and also Benamor (views over mountains, countryside and sea), Quinta Da Ria(beautiful sea views) and Quinta Da Cima, a lovely course and the most challenging of the three, are all situated in Cabanas. Within a 45 minute motorway drive (motorways here are a pleasure to drive on and much quieter than England!) you can find all the famous Algarve Golf Courses around the upmarket Vilamoura area.
Cabanas area
Cabanas is a traditional village and you can walk along the palm tree lined road along the bay taking the opportunity to dine at one of the many cafes or restaurants which overlook the sea.The village is also a few minutes drive from the bustling market town of Tavira which is steeped in history and known locally as the Town of Churches as there are 22 churches in the locality!The town rests either side of the river with shops,cafes,bars and restaurants adorning the cobbled streets. Tavira is well known for its stunning beaches which,remarkably,are similar to those of the Dominican Republic with golden sand and coconut trees! Cabanas is also only a 20 minute drive from the Portuguese/Spanish borders and you can drive across the magnificent suspension bridge across the River Guadiana to view a traditional part of Spain where the Spanish come for their holidays.You can enjoy the best of two beautiful countries in one holiday! There is a Railway Station at Cabanas from which you can travel the length of the Algarve from Vila Real De Santo Antonio,an historic market town renowned for its linen,on the Spanish Border to Albufeira. From the station at Vila Real,you can walk to the River Guadiana and catch the ferry which runs every 20 minutes across to the picturesque Spanish town of Ayamonte. Cabanas is ideally placed whether you wish to sightsee or simply wish to enjoy a relaxing holiday.It is a beautiful place and one to which you will surely wish to return.
How to get there
Fly to Faro and itīs an easy 25 minute drive to Cabanas. Cheap flights available from Easyjet.co.uk,Flythompson.co.uk.Monarchairlines etc. We can arrange transfers from the airport, you can take a taxi or cheap car hire is available from Autoseason. You will be personally greeted at the airport and given the keys to your car ready to start your holiday. we can also arrange airport pick up and drop off, if you dont want to drive.

Further details indoors: The property has two bedrooms. Both bedrooms have large fitted wardrobes. The kitchen is open plan to the lounge and there is a terrace style balcony off the kitchen to enable you to enjoy alfresco dining. Afterwards you will be able to relax in the cool air conditioned rooms before heading out for a traditional Portuguese meal at one of the highly recommended local restaurants.
Further details outdoors: There is also a Medical Centre in the Village which will offer peace of mind to those of you with young children. Cot and high chair hire available on request . Four private swimming pools ready to be used.
Conditions
The deposit is 20% per holiday with the balance due 8 weeks prior to departure.The apartment is cleaned and linen and towels changed weekly. All electricity and gas included. An additional 100 euros deposit is required as deposit for any breakages and this will be returned to you within 10 days of your departure.
