Situated in the heart of the fishing village of Cabanas de Tavira, this intriguing property offers an excellent standard of accommodation and is a perfect property for a family or 2 couples seeking reasonably priced quality accommodation. The main entrance leads directly into the open plan lounge, with a well equipped dining and kichen area with seating for up to 6 people. (The sofa converts into addtional sleeping area if required). WC and cloak room on ground floor. Stairs to the first floor lead to a twin bedroom with bathroom and WC. The second bedroom is located on the 2nd floor, with double bed and shower/WC. The balcony area adjoining this room has sufficient space for relaxing or peaceful al fresco dining. From here, an external spiral staircase leads to a 4th floor terrace suitable for sun bathing and offers the most spectaular views of the coastline and surrounding areas. As a recently refurbished house, the decor is modern, with special touches such as integral radio in each bedroom

The Algarve / East Algarve region
The Algarve's 200 kilometre stretch of southern shoreline is one of Europe's most popular holiday destinations. The region has attracted visitors since the time of the Phoenicians, but today it caters for millions of tourists a year with its stunning coastline, excellent golf courses and pleasant year round climate. Bordered on two sides by the Atlantic, the Algarve is divided from the rest of Portugal by a series of low lying mountains. In the east, the Guardiana River forms a scenic border with neighbouring Spain. The region's capital, Faro, is built around a charming harbour at the edge of a wide lagoon. Its main attractions include a maritime museum and a 13th century cathedral. The Eastern Algarve is very different compared to the rugged beauty found west of Faro. It’s tidal marshlands have a tranquil beauty and the small resorts along the coast have retained much of their character, looking today as they must have looked long ago. Here, tourism blends in perfectly with local activities creating a relaxed way of life. There is a tinge of excitement and even romance about those ferry or tiny boat trips to the islands, where visitors are rewarded with superb, less crowded bathing beaches and warm waters.
Cabanas de Tavira area
Cabanas itself is not filled with crowds or tourists - this is a leisurely and welcoming family resort that offers relaxation. The whole village can be leisurely strolled, along the sea front, in around 30 minutes. Along the way, you will find a number of excellent restaurants to suit any tastes. We can particularly recommend 'O Pedro' and 'Mariscos and Petiscos' which serve excellent Portuguese meals. However, for the cheaper budgets and the taste of the real Algarve, there are also a number of traditional bars and Tascas serving very typical Portuguese meals in the back streets. The village has 2 good supermarkets with a range of fresh produce and there is also a daily market, butchers and bakers. There are relatively few gifts shops, but in the height of summer, there are a range of markets stalls selling handcrafted goods. The beach is reached by a small boat at the end of the waterfront and runs regaularly to the wonderful sandy shores of the Cabanas Beach Island.

Faro Airport is easily accessed as most budget airlines as well as scheduled flights arrive on a daily basis. We can arrange Airport Transfers, or car hire, at competitive prices. The drive to the property is straightforward, Cabanas being not far from the main routes, and we will supply full driving directions.
