Furnished to a high standard this is a perfect holiday apartment for families, golfers and couples. The apartment comprises of two twin bedrooms both with en-suite bathrooms and a separate guest cloakroom, fitted kitchen and open plan lounge / dining area. The lounge and bedrooms open on to a wrap around terrace which provides the option for all day sun and overlooks both the pool and the gardens with sea views on one side of the terrace and mountain views on the other side.
The development offers a large outdoor swimming pool with ample decking area for sunbathing and relaxing. The beach front area of Cabanas with its local bars and restaurants is a 2 minute walk. In the summer months water taxis can take you to the fabulous island beaches which the area is famous for. Golfers will enjoy the variety of courses the area has to offer.

The apartment is new in 2009 and has been furnished to a high standard. The open plan living area leads on to the extensive terrace which is equipped with table and chairs, gas bbq, pergolas ( for shade from the sun when required) and sun loungers. There is lift access to all floors.

The Algarve / East Algarve region


The Eastern Algarve area has been popular for many years with Portuguese and Spanish holidaymakers and has always been a well kept secret. New, well planned development has opened up the area - although it still retains its charm and local character.
The main town of the East Algarve is Tavira - a five minute drive or by train or bus from Cabanas. The historic centre has been sympathetically renovated and still retains its charm. Take some time to discover the old Moorish castle ruins and the Camera Obscura is worth a visit. The town still has its own fishing fleet and both sides of the river offer cafes with sun (or shade!) at all times of the day. You can also take a water taxi to the island which is open all year (unless it’s raining!). Tavira Gran Plaza is the new multi purpose shopping centre with a large supermarket, boutique shops and cafes is located on the outskirts of the town.
Vila Real de St Antonio sits on the Guadiana river which forms the border between Portugal and Spain. Famous for its linen and towels the main square is also host to local concerts throughout the year.
North of the Via Infante motorway is a completely unspoiled area of hills - take a drive up here and you will really see the true nature of the Algarve with its stunning views and scents of wild flowers and herbs.
The Cabanas de Tavira area
Cabanas waterfront is the area where most of the bars and restaurants are located. A former fishing village, its main activity now is geared around the many tourists who visit the area and particularly the island beaches in the summer months. Access to the beaches is by water taxi and the island has snack bar, toilets, parasols and sun beds which are open in the summer.
The waterfront has recently been developed to provide a stylish walkway with tropical plants and seating from which to take in the fabulous views of Cabanas Island and the wider Ria da Formosa.
There are also a number of supermarkets, a market for fresh fish and local produce, bakeries and other food shops dotted around the village providing everything for those wanting an alternative to the excellent restaurants and cafes.
Cabanas is also on the route of the Eco Via da Litoral which is a cycle route that runs along the Algarve from Cape St Vincent in the extreme west to the Spanish border, 18 kms from Cabanas, in the east. Cycles are available for hire from the nearby shops.
There is a railway station in the village of Conceicao which is circa 750m from the apartment and provides easy access to Vila Real de San Antonio and the Spanish border in the east, and to Tavira, Faro and beyond in the west.
A little further along the coast at Manta Rota the island joins to the shore and you can drive to the beach here at any time of year. The large car park has access across the dunes via a boardwalk which leads to the wide sandy beach.
Golfers are spoiled for choice with some of the best courses in the Algarve within a 15 minute drive. The Jack Nicklaus course at Monte Rei is tipped to become the Number 1 course in Portugal and is already a firm favourite with Professionals. Quinta da Ria has already hosted several European Senior Tour events and Castro Marim has opened a new 9 holes which form part of their new Championship course. Quinta do Vale is also maturing well and proving very popular - and the lovely Benamor course with its gently undulating front 9 is a short drive from the apartment. Don't be fooled though - the back 9 is a good test for any golfer!
Other activities in the area include horse riding, walking and wine tasting.
