A full entertainment system ensures cosy nights in if desired including a 37 inch LCD TV,satelite TV, WiFi( available on request at extra cost) and DVD system with ipod docking station and CD player. A selection of DVDs also available

All Linen and towels are provided. Altogether a complete holiday experience.

We have a managemnt company called "Hometeam" who will meet you at the apartment or airport where one of their English speaking staff will hand over keys, show you the apartment and answer any queries you may have. The friendly team at Home Team Portugal offer a number of services including the following:

Booking via owners by email or telephone. Non-refundable booking deposit of 20%. Balance to be paid in full 8 weeks prior to commencement of your holiday. Security deposit of £100 payable on booking and refundable 10 days after departure.

4-8 weeks – 50% of rate refunded
2-4 weeks – 25% of rate refunded
Less than 2 weeks – no refund

The Algarve / East Algarve region

The area east of Faro contrasts sharply with most of the Algarve. Here development has spread more slowly. The coastline, almost to the Spanish border, is largely lined by stretches of beaches and green spaces part of the Rio Formosa National Park, a conservation area of raw beauty and great ecological importance.

The Eastern Algarve has a tranquil beauty and the resorts along this coast have retained much of their local and traditional character. Here tourism blends in perfectly with local activities creating a relaxed way of life. There is a tinge of excitement, even romance, about those ferry or tiny boat trips to the ilhas, trips rewarded by superb, less crowded bathing beaches and warm waters.

To the east beyond Tavira the sea ‘returns to land’ creating excellent beaches at Cabanas, Manta Rota, Alagoa and Praia Verde, all accompanied by sensitive development and improvements including superb golf courses and other facilities. Take a step inland and you enter a world where development will never encroach.

The countryside is unspoilt and full of surprises. Best surprise of all is the border area to the north and inland from the Guadiana River - here you will find the undiscovered Algarve. Tourism has not yet touched the splendid countryside along the river and into the Serra do Caldeirao.

The Cabanas de Tavira area

Built on either side of the river Gilao which is spanned by two low bridges (one Roman), Tavira is without doubt the most beautiful town in the Algarve. The town's main industry is still fishing and its independence of tourism adds to its charm. Everything seems to centre on the palm-lined river, from restaurants and tiny bars to the daily fruit and vegetable market and fishing boats. The town's old buildings, most carefully preserved, complete the perfect picture.

One of the best kept secrets of the Portuguese Algarve is the traditional and picturesque fishing village of Cabanas. This sleepy corner of the Eastern Algarve boasts some of the most beautiful beaches in Europe. Much of the surrounding landscape is designated nature reserve, ensuring that the authenticity and beauty of the region will be preserved now and into the future.Tavira is a charming mix of old and new – Roman, Moorish and Portuguese features abound.

The typical Portuguese features of the town are well preserved and the thriving tourist industry coexists alongside a vibrant local economy and culture. There are many restaurants and fish is a speciality. Inexpensive restaurants, bars and cafes abound in Tavira and the surrounding villages.From June through September, there is an abundance of street entertainment in the form of concerts, street theatre, markets, fairs, processions, etc.

“Wow..................!!!!!” I feel I should be saying that the apartment was horrible and that Cabanas is a dump...but that would only be because selfishly I want this place to be a secret! Cabanas is absolutely delightful and the apartment is not far behind. The apartment complex being on the edge of Cabanas guarantees almost complete solitude but with close access to shops, lovely cafes and restaurants, not to mention the lovely boardwalk and beach. Fantastic apartment, quiet location and delightful resort.

“I'll be back!!!” Fantastic apartment and location for us. We wanted a nice quiet family holiday and thats what we got. We had everything we needed at hand and we spent a lot of our time at the pool as the children just wanted to swim. They really enjoyed it. The management team went out of their way to help us with any requests or questions we had. We were quite overwhelmed at how well equipped and comfortable the apartment is. I would go back in the morning if I could!! If we go back to Portugal again, we will certainly be contacting David for a return visit. Therese O Connor
