Cabanas is an old fishing village. It is 4km from Tavira on the Eastern side of the Algarve and known as the "Jewel in the Crown". The Apartment is in a prime location, air/heat conditioned. 1st floor with a spacious dining/lounge area, fully equipped kitchen, two bathrooms (1 en suite). There is a communal and children's pool, plus a jacuzzi, and snack bar on site for your enjoyment, or take a 5 min walk to the shops and restaurants in this quiet village. Cabanas is a beautiful old world village unspoilt by commercialism.

The beach is one of the safest on the Algarve and a short boat ride for just over a euro will take you to one of the best beaches in the Algarve.

Cabanas de Tavira / Costa de Cabanas area

If you just want a beach holiday with the children, Cabanas is the place to be where everything is accessible from the Apartment without the need for a car. For those who wish to travel further you can see the beautiful exotic and rare birds. Vila Real the most easterly town where you can browse through the linen shops and catch a ferry to Spain for just a few euros. Visit Sao Bras - a quiet hill town with a passion for flowers. Cacela new and old town and boasting two championship golf courses Quinta Ria and Quinta Cima, and the delightful course designed by Sir Henry Cotton Benamor. Tavira the "jewel in the crown" of the Eastern Algarve is full of history ready for you to explore. There are classical jazz concerts in the summer. The new shopping centre opening in Spring 2009 with a multi a complex cinema. 8 lane indoor bowling centre. Plus tennis, horse riding and water sports are close at hand, and a car ride away you can travel to zoomarine, and the aqua park.

How to get there

Most budget airlines fly to Faro, Lisbon, and Seville airports. There are excellent road links to the Algarve. Faro being the easiest . Costa de Cabanas is close to Conceicao Station with trains to Vila Real de St. Antonio (Spanish Border) and Faro. 35 mins drive on the IP1. We can arrange car hire, taxi transfer, welcome packs etc.

There are toilets and showers for your use by the pool together with sun loungers and parasols surrounding the poolside.

Arrival and departure dates are flexible (by agreement). 25% Booking Fee. Also we would require a €150 or £150 cheque to cover damages. This will be returned within two weeks of your departure (subject to satisfactory inspection). The remainder of the rental fee is due 8 weeks before your stay to secure booking

Cleaning will be prior to your arrival. If your require extra cleaning during your stay we can make arrangements for this to be carried out at an extra cost to you at €10 per hour. If you are staying for 2 weeks we will provide an extra set of linen - price included in your rental.

Guestbook for Costa de Cabanas

We have had such a wonderful relaxing holiday. You don't need a car if all you want to do is relax, absolutely everything is nearby. We will definitely come back again. Charles and Yvonne

A very comfy apartment, and the balconies are great. The food inexpensive in fact we are trying to find something wrong. We caught the train, bus and hired bikes for €5 a day from the office, where you can also book trips to other places in the Algarve. Peter and Linda

If you want the noisy night life, Cabanas is not for you. Everything shuts down at 12 midnight which we felt was a very good idea. There are is an abundance of snack bars and restaurants, unfortunately we ran out of time to try all, so will definitely have to return. The Meet and Greet was a bonus and knowing you have someone to contact should you need to was certainly a plus. Chris and John
