Cabanas de Tavira
Tavira is located in the East Algarve, also kown as Sotavento, it is quite different to the West Coast. Tavira's coastline is flat, with very beautiful extensive beaches that are still very unspoit and in their natural state. Along a good portion of the coast, is the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve reknowned for its particular fauna, flora and biodiversity, a favourite spot for bird watching including the famous stork and pink flamingos.
Vila Real Santo Antonio is the last portuguese frontier town, quite different to all the others located on the estuary of the large Guadiana River that flows for many hundreds of mile originating in Spain.
The interior of the East Algarve is quite unspoilt, and mountainous, with many sweet litle villages that maintain many traditional customs such as cheese making, olive oil production, the making of a variey of items made from cork bark, handicrafts, pottery.
There are 6 golf courses in the East Algarve, all different from each other ranging from the area of Castro Marim right down to the coast such as the double course Quinta da Ria/Quinta da Cima, close to Conceicao Tavira
