About the home

Bedrooms: Large comfortable bedroom with double bed, 2 convenient double wardrobes and French style sliding doors to a sunny balcony where you can enjoy your morning tea/coffee.
Bathrooms: Modern main bathroom with bath/shower over, wc, bidet and basin. Very roomy.
Kitchen: Sunny and large fully equipped kitchen with fridge/freezer, gas hob with extractor fan, large electric oven, toaster, kettle, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher. French style sliding doors lead to the BBQ and your bistro dining on the balcony.
Utility Room: Iron, ironing board, portable drying rack and outdoor cushions.
Living Rooms: Very spacious living/dining area, air conditioned, 2 over stuffed sofas, stereo system, UK satellite TV, dining table (seating for 4).
Sliding doors open onto another sunny balcony. Enjoy!
Cleaning/towels/linen/maid service: Towels and bed linen are included - fresh bed linen and bathroom towels every 7 days. We ask guests to provide their own beach towels.

Cabanas/Conceicao Beach

The Algarve / East Algarve region

Cabanas/Conceicao are joint villages in the unspoilt Eastern Algarve, 4km from Tavira. Surrounded by best natural white sandy beaches, golf courses & countryside Algarve has to offer. Tavira is close by & one of the most elegant and beautiful towns on the Algarve, abounding in Roman and Moorish history & retaining a rare unspoiled charm. Known as the Venice of the Algarve, still a working fishing port, tourism has had very little impact here and the area is totally untouched by any 'yob-culture'. With its narrow cobbled streets and alleyways, ancient castle, old churches, traditional tiled houses and Roman bridge spanning the River Gilão running through the town, exploring is sheer delight! There are dozens of little pavement cafes & restaurants, many along the banks of the palm-lined river, offering economic delicious food. There is a large daily market selling fish, meat, locally grown fruit & vegetables and other local produce. You will find lots of small shops tucked away as you wander round the town, or for more serious shopping visit the new Tavira Gran Plaza shopping mall; then relax in the little park next to the river where local people gather in the shade to pass the time of day.

The Cabanas de Tavira / Conceicao de Tavira area

Beaches
A 20 minute walk and you are on the Cabanas water front. Anytime is the perfect time to enjoy your get away on the beautiful white sandy beaches and coastline that form part of the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve. The sand dune beach island is reached by local small boats (5 min ride). This safe 6km long beach has changing facilities, umbrellas, sunbeds and a cafe/bar. It is lifeguard patrolled during the peak season. Off season walk and beach comb this super beach!

Boating
Private trips for exploring, fishing, bird watching etc. . For example - bird watching in the Ria Formosa nature reserve, fishing, exploring the coast and islands off Tavira, meandering up the River Gilão through Tavira town. Why not visit one of the deserted beaches along this part of the coast, or take a boat trip to pretty Santa Luzia village for a leisurely fish lunch in one of the delightful and cheap little restaurants there?

Cyclists
If you are a cyclist or hiker, there is now a cycling/walking route from the Spanish border in the east to the western tip of the Algarve, with wonderful views and plenty of clean fresh air!

Water Activities
There is a kite-surfing school in Cabanas. Rentals available.

A golfer's paradise with 6 quality golf courses within easy reach the nearest, Benamor is across the way. Benamor 5500m par 71. Quinta da Cima 6256m par 72 (voted best course in the Algarve in 2004). Quinta de Ria 6110m par 72. Castro Marim 5466m par 72. Monte Rei 6567m par 72 (Jack Nicklaus Signature). Quinta do Vale 6510ms par 72.

Faro airport is only 35km. We can organise your airport transfers for you with a local taxi company at a discounted price. Hire car information can be provided on request or we can supply you with shuttle bus information. Bicycle hire is available at several locations in the village. Frequent local buses and trains are only 2 minutes walk from the apartment, which makes visiting Tavira and other areas of the Algarve easy. Connections to Seville and other parts of Spain are also convenient.
