The Algarve / East Algarve region
O Pomar is a 5 star development in the picturesque fishing village of Cabanas de Tavira with it's beautiful promenade and beach. Cabanas has 2 banks, small shops, grocery stores, daily fish and vegetable market, a selection of restaurants offering fresh seafood, vegetarian and traditional European dishes.
Bikes for hire, water taxi to beach and agency for excursions and car rental are all readily available.
The architecturally attractive town of Tavira is just 7 km away. The town is divided by the river of Gale and is full of Portuguese character. Details of the regular music recitals and other entertainments can be found in the tourist office at Tavira.
The train station is located 5 minutes walk away from the apartment and services the whole Algarve including Faro.
The Spanish border is a mere 20 minute drive and the magnificent city of Seville is 2 hours by car.
The Cabanas de Tavira / O Pomar area
The sea-front is a 10 minute walk away where you can catch a boat across the naturally formed river to the beach for approximate €1.30 where a bar/restaurant is also available.
The town has numerous cafes, restaurants and bars all within a friendly fishing village atmosphere.

Myself and a few friends stayed in this amazing apartment in September. It is absolutely huge so you never felt you were living on top of people. The 3 double bedrooms are very large with plenty of wardrobe space. The master bedroom is very luxurious with a really plush ensuite.
Probably it's best feature are the two large balconies - one off the kitchen and sitting room and the other off the master bedroom. Fitted out with a BBQ area, 2 double swinging seats, dining table and sunchairs, to be honest, we spent a lot of time hanging out here catching the sun...and sampling the local vino!
The apartment is about a 1km walk to the boardwalk in Cabanas village where all the restaurants are located. From here, you can catch the small ferry to the beach. However, there was a pool in the apartment complex if you didn't want to venture to far away from the apartment.
I would highly recommend this apartment. In fact, my brother has now booked it for a week in October!

What a lovely holiday we had and we loved your apartment and holiday complex and Cabanas and the Portuguese people, we loved absolutely everything. It was a suprise to find that there was so much to do as we were expecting a tiny little fishing village with only a few restaurants and bars but that was not the case. In Cabanas itself we were spoilt for choice as everywhere we ate was lovely and the service was outstanding. The children were always made a fuss of and they never struggled for what they liked to eat. Value for money was exceptonal. Would definately reccommend the short taxi ride into Tavira as its charming narrow streets and bars are delightful and the ice-cream stall is out of this world, our only regret was that we ran out of time to do everything. If you are a beach lover then make sure you visit the one at Cabanas and the little boat trip to get there was such a novelty. My youngest daughter is 3 and although she hasnt needed a pushchair for a year now Pauline gave me the advice to take one and it was a godsend, for adults walking around it is not a problem, lovely infact but for little legs it would be a struggle and it was more than handy when we were running a little late for our dinner reservation as we could get a sprint on and also when she was worn out she could fall asleep in there and the adults could carry on enjoying the night!!!!!! It was our best sun holiday ever and we are already looking forward to returning next year.
