The Peak District National Park which was established in 1951 covers over 1400 sq km and has a huge variety of landscapes, wildlife, history and culture. Just off the A515 midway between Ashbourne and Buxton the village is typical of a White Peak village, running along a single street and surrounded by farms and agricultural land. Buildings of note are the Church of St Thomas, the Waterloo Inn and Biggin Hall.

Biggin Grange is just outside the village and looks over Biggin Dale which is a beautiful sanctuary of which part of it is a National Nature Reserve. A short walk from Biggin Grange takes you down into Biggin Dale which runs into the River Dove. The hills are covered in lovely wild flowers amd in the Spring cowslips and purple orchids are abundant.

"Lovely, well-fitted cottage in a gorgeous location"

From our arrival just as the sun was setting, we knew we were in a special place. The owner, Jane, spotted us and gave us a warm welcome, showing us to our cottage. The lounge has a superb fire whilst the bathroom is well kitted out. The cottage oozes character and, somewhat surprisingly, has some of the best Wi-fi we've ever experienced!

The cottage is located in a beautiful part of the country with superb walks and great food easy to find. All in all a lovely few days and we would not hesitate coming back.

Thanks very much for the review. We have jus upgraded the WiFi connection so good news to hear it is all working well! Nice to be able to enjoy the views but still check the emails as well! Hope to see you both back again in the future. Jane
