The Heart of England/Peak District

There is so much to see and do in Derbyshire and the Peak District National Park, where you'll find the first real highlands of England, the beautiful and untouched High Peak. From the high hills, craggy rock-faces and wild moorlands of England's National Park, to the tranquil, tree-shaded dales and valleys, from the woodlands and hilly pastures of the north east to the gently meandering rivers and canals of the south.

Throughout the Peak District and Derbyshire, you will discover a host of stately homes, castles and halls whose impressive design and traditional treasures are matched only by the brilliance of their gardens and grounds.whatever your interests. Home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, Chatsworth House is one of the finest collections of furniture and fine arts in the world and hosts various special events during the year while for the younger visitors there is also an adventure playground.

There are 1,600 miles of public rights of way and 58 miles of cycle trails.

In 1932, Kinder Scout was the site of a mass trespass which led to the creation of National Parks.

The highest point in the Peak District is 'Kinder Scout' at 636 metres.

You are able to access over 500 sq km of moor and heath land.

Whether it is a day out or a short stay, entertaining the kids or a quiet time for the two of you there is always something to see or do in Derbyshire.

Derbyshire offers a variety of scenery, a wide array of interesting places to visit and things to do, whatever the time of year.
