The Heart of England/Peak District

The Peak District and Derbyshire is a contrast of high rolling moorland, craggy outcrops and picture post card vales and valleys with ‘chocolate box' villages. The whole area is dominated by Britain's first national park; The Peak District National Park which has been catering for visitors for many years. It's easy to get around with a good network of roads and excellent public transport. There are many places of interest including some lovely towns and villages such as Bakewell, Buxton and Ashbourne as well as historical attractions like Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall. To the north of the region is the High Peak, with miles of heather moorland and great country walks and cycling.

Craven House is located in Bradwell, a picturesque village in the Hope Valley boasting magnificent views over Bradwell Edge and Abney Moor, an excellent destination for a walking, cycling, climbing or caving holiday. Those who enjoy the great outdoors will enjoy all the opportunities for adventure in the surrounding areas and those after a little relaxation will also enjoy the tranquillity of the area. The village itself is well served by buses and boasts a local shop as well as three excellent pubs. Famous for its ice cream, tiny cottages and winding narrow lanes, this picturesque little village promises an idyllic retreat to the countryside. The popular market town of Bakewell is within driving distance and offers up a number of walks, shops, quaint cafes and pubs for the visitor to sample and the famous spa town of Buxton is also within easy reach, with yet more fine restaurants, shops and pubs, as well as popular visitor attractions such as the Pavilion Gardens and Opera House. Visitors will also be able to visit beautiful stately homes such as Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall, helping to make Bradwell an excellent base for a Peak District holiday.
