The Heart of England/Peak District

The Peak District and Derbyshire is a contrast of high rolling moorland, craggy outcrops and picture post card vales and valleys with ‘chocolate box' villages. The whole area is dominated by Britain's first national park; The Peak District National Park which has been catering for visitors for many years. It's easy to get around with a good network of roads and excellent public transport. There are many places of interest including some lovely towns and villages such as Bakewell, Buxton and Ashbourne as well as historical attractions like Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall. To the north of the region is the High Peak, with miles of heather moorland and great country walks and cycling.

Daisy Bank Cottage is located in the quiet village of Sparrow Pit, in the heart of the Peak District National Park. Boasting a good village pub and close to other Peak District villages such as Chapel-en-le-Firth, those visiting Sparrow Pit will never be too far from a local amenity or two. Close to destinations such as the Hope Valley and other popular destinations, there are a number of exciting walking, cycling and climbing opportunities in the surrounding area. Close by is the popular Spa town of Buxton which boasts a number of exciting attractions to entice the visitor, from the Pavilion Gardens to the famous Buxton Opera House, Poole's Cavern and Go Ape for the children, it seems this picturesque town has something to offer individuals of all ages. With a number of delightful shops, cafes and pubs as well as fine restaurants, the nightlife can be equally as riveting as the day life in this attractive town. For those feeling a little more adventurous, the popular country houses of Chatsworth and Haddon Hall are also within driving distance, offering delightful days out for the whole family, with their impressive gardens and regal interiors.
