Excellent house for up to six guests in a 5.5 acre private tropical island. You get the whole island for just you and nobody else. 575 metres of coastline! Beach is pebble, so bring your swimming shoes for maximum enjoyment. There is one particular spot that gets sandy under the sea and is relatively flat for 20-30 metres, becoming a nice swimming pool.

The house has three bedrooms and two bathrooms, with one of the bedrooms being a master ensuite with an excellent sea view and a spacious walk-in wardrobe/closet. The kitchen is fully equipped and the living room also has a region-free DVD player with many DVDs from around the globe for your entertainment. The house has a nice balcony where you can relax whilst appreciating the sea. The fact that the house was built on top of the hill gives you excellent sea views from many spots around it.

The island has a tennis court with excellent sea views and is within 30 minutes boat ride to major diving sites including shipwrecks from a major WWII naval battle that happened nearby in 1944. A fully equipped diving school is nearby.

This price includes the rental for island only on a no-frills basis. The bills not included are: food, transport and laundry. Regarding food, you'll have to either buy it yourself or hire somebody to do it for you on the mainland. The employees can cook for you, at an extra cost negotiated directly with them, and they can also offer you boat tours and do your laundry at an extra cost.

The island has water and electricity including hot water for showers and one air-conditioned master ensuite bedroom, but it is an island so it is relatively expensive to bring water and electricity, so I think guests will prefer to be in control of what they spend.

The house has been fitted with a rainwater capture system. This means that during rainy season about 100 litres per day can be captured from rainwater. It should be enough if used with care. It also has wind turbines generating enough electricity to maintain a few lights, the fridge and a table fan for free, depending on the prevailing winds of course.

However, if you wish to use more electricity (e.g. air conditioner, ceiling fans, microwave) then the diesel generator needs to be used. It uses about 3 litres of diesel every 4 hours and the price of the rental does not include this cost. Also, if you need extra water - either because it didn't rain or because it wasn't enough for your consumption, the price of bringing it from the mainland is not included and is about U$50 per 100 litre tank.

So you can be frugal with expenses if you want, but if you want all the luxuries you can also have them, just have to pay extra directly to the suppliers - I won't make any money with any of these extras.

You do get cooking gas included in the rental price, in a pre-loaded canister ready to use.

Regarding location: the house is in Culion, which 1hr 30min by boat to Coron. There are some touristic attractions in Culion (like the Museum and the Immaculate Conception Church) but the main advantage of this house's location is the proximity to many diving spots and the tranquility - no neighbours or anyone else to share the beach with you. To get there from the nearest airport (Busuanga) you'll need a one hour car transfer to Bintuan and another 45 minute boat ride from Bintuan to the island.
