The location is perfect for exploring the north coast attractions. The property has everything needed for a great stay, with a welcome pack provided on arrival. If the weather is nice, there are seating areas at the front and rear of the property, but only two chairs provided at each. As the property sleeps 6, more would have been useful as we had to carry a chair about for the third person in our group! The house wasn't the cleanest that I have stayed in, with some impressive cobwebs in the fireplace and windows. The kitchen work tops are wood and presumably have been oiled which makes them very sticky and they don't really feel clean. Plates and cups are stored on shelves rather than in cupboards so I felt I needed to wash things before use to remove dust. For the price, the property is good value, but I wouldn't recommend it for more than 4 people because of the seating inside and out.
Many thanks for taking the time to share a review and glad you enjoyed your time up on the North Coast. We appreciate your feedback on the outside seating arrangements and will look to address for future visitors. The cobwebs mentioned, unfortunately, are simply a result of living in the country rather than any lack of care and attention before your visit. Kind Regards from The Byre.

"whats in a name"the byre""
Before I go into details I would point out that I am a realist and seasoned holiday rental person and I do allow for things which may not work correctly due to wear and tear because I understand that… More
I welcome your review and am glad, despite your noted concerns, that you enjoyed your holiday at The Byre. I would also like to take this opportunity to respond to some of your comments. Firstly the work surface in the kitchen is not sticky. We do however oil the surface regularly to maintain the quality of the wood.
It was unfortunate that the Boiler did leak on your visit. This was despite a service only 3 weeks previous. That leak was fixed within several days after you had advised on the problem.
The kitchen has been equipped to sustain a family and until recently we had a family of 5 living long-term in the cottage without any issues regarding equipment. We do not have completely matching sets however and I stressed the cleanliness of the utensils when we had the cottage cleaned after your visit.
The toilet seat upstairs was new and has been newly fitted. At the time you brought this up my husband offered to look at it but a member of your party declined. The toilet seat downstairs was a new wooden seat and the 'crack' is a join in the manufacturing. We have replaced this as it was not a completely even join as you have pointed out.
The BBQ is a modern gas bbq which lights the gas burners on ignition. There are no coals required for its operation.
There is seating outside for 4 adults. We vet our bookings and do not accept more than 4 adults due to seating. We have a children's table and chairs to accommodate then the children in the party.
The Causeway Road can be frequented by tourists and does run beside the cottage. We have a gate that locks to ensure safety. The gate on occasion is used by the three other cottages. These people are well known to us and would be unlocking the gate on entry and locking again once through the gate as they are used to looking out for children.
I appreciate your comments and I hope that I have satisfied you that we do our utmost to take comments seriously and respond to them accordingly. I note you have suggested you would not return, however if you do so we would be happy to welcome you again.

"I wouldn't hesitate booking this property again and I will recommend it to my friends."
Really cute little cottage. Perfect too if u have small kids, as they have a playhouse in the garden full of amazing toys. Great location, for giants causeway and rope bridge, etc. nearest pub within walking distance, the nearest shop is a 5 min drive. The only advice I can offer is to bring a pair of slippers as downstairs has a beautiful stone floor, which can be a bit chilly on the toes :-) Enjoy!
