1934 - Faith Cottage
About the home
Situated in the rural hamlet of Bradfield St. George, one and a half miles from the village of Felsham, is this grade II listed property. This wonderful little cottage dates back to 1488 and has been sympathetically restored to blend character features with modern amenities. The East Anglia / Suffolk region
Picturesque clusters of stone cottages, rolling Fens, unspoilt beaches, and pretty waterways – East Anglia is a dream holiday destination. Norfolk offers unspoilt beaches, saltmarshes, picturesque cliffs, and quaint flint villages. The pretty, popular resorts of Blakeney & Wells form part of the largest coastal nature reserve in England and Wales, where you may be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of common and grey seals, along with abundant birdlife. Families can enjoy the popular tourist resort of Great Yarmouth, enjoy the thrills and spills at Pleasurewood Hills theme park, or roam the cycle paths and sculpture trail at Thetford Forest (not forgetting the‘Go Ape’ high wire adventure centre in the heart of the forest).
Cromer is well known for its pier and crabs, or how about Sheringham, from where you can ride on a steam train to the delightful town of Holt, with its specialist shops and charming market place? Equally as charming are the coastline and countryside of Suffolk. Historic sites such as Sutton Hoo and Framlington Castle sit alongside museums, high-wire adventure trails, beautiful gardens and bustling market towns, amidst lovely countryside with plentiful walking and cycle paths. The coastline of the area is popular with families, and the whole region has a very strong arts movement, with plenty of work by local artists on display and available to purchase.
The Bury St Edmunds / Felsham area
Home to a good local shop, a lovely village pub and a beautiful church dating back to the 15th Century, Felsham is a charming example of an East Anglian village. The surrounding settlements offer a further insight into the region's past and boast a wide selection of architectural styles. Properties of note include Ickworth House, built by the eccentric 4th Earl of Bristol, and Melford Hall, a turreted Tudor mansion once visited by Elizabeth I. Lavenham is also close by and is a pretty, medieval town which offers a number of stunning Tudor buildings and a local history museum. Bury St. Edmunds is also worth visiting and is host to a good range of pubs and restaurants as well as a choice of museums, parks and a stunning Cathedral.

Guestbook for 1934 - Faith Cottage
Everything about the cottage was excellent. The owners were more than just the owners, they made you feel at home.

,We enjoyed the peace and quiet. Yet again both Faith Cottage and Suffolk delivered the relaxing holiday we've come to look forward to.

,The location was great, off the beaten track but with walks from the doorstep. The owners were friendly and on hand if we needed anything. The welcome was great and we even had a cream tea waiting for us and a full basket of fresh fruit. Fresh flowers in all the rooms was a lovely welcome touch. We made use of the garden and indoor games and the television was hardly on. This cottage ticked all the boxes for location and facilities and we really did chill out. Will definitely be back. Great base to explore. This cottage is obviously well loved by its owners and for our first cottage holiday with Sykes it was a great experience!
