Believed to date back to 1443, Roundwood House is a chocolate box Grade II listed thatched holiday cottage adjoining the owner's property, neatly tucked behind a row of weeping willows with a large duck pond. Renovated to the highest standard ,been given a 5 star rating by Visit Britain. Set between the picturesque village of Lavenham, 5 minutes away ( believed to be one of the finest medieval villages in England ), and the historic market town of Bury St Edmunds, 8 minutes away, Which has a 3 day Christmas market at the end of November with over 300 stalls and other attractions ,also a twice weekly street market. The cottage is ideally situated to explore the delights of Suffolk. Slightly further on are Newmarket for a day at the races and the city of Cambridge. Shop and pub 1 mile, restaurant ½ mile.

Large living/dining room with wood-burning stove in inglenook fireplace( wood supplied),High quality furniture including double quality sofa bed (alternative sleeping), French doors and tiled floor.Under floor central heating down stairs,Radiators up stairs.Fully fitted,well equipped kitchen with electric induction range (for cooking), tiled floor. First floor: Two double bedrooms. Bathroom with shower attachment, separate shower cubicle and toilet. Second staircase to first floor: Twin bedroom.The house is beamed throughout ,some low beams in places. External garden toilet.

All though the property is adjoined to the owners property,Both is totally independent of each other.Each having there own access and driveway ( for several cars )The large south facing and secluded rear garden ( a real sun trap) is securely fenced for children,There is a small pond but this is covered for safety .

Bury St Edmunds

The area is full of historic buildings and churches, Roundwood House is just outside Lavenham,said to be one of the best medieval towns in England, full of charm and interdependent shops also the birth place of Harry Potter,second most photographed door in the country . Bury st Edmunds is a historic town ,once the 4th most religious place in England. It has all the usual modern High street shops plus some interesting independent shops. It also has a twice weekly street market , the biggest in East Anglia .Newmarket is only a short distance away for a day at the races of evening concerts throught the summer and the home of the National Stud . A visit to Cambridge is a must with a punt ride if weather permits .
