About the home

This large house has 9 bedrooms and is perfect for family friends and groups who are looking for an accessible comfortable house.

There are nine bedrooms, which offer a mix of doubles, family rooms and a bunk room for the kids. We have also included four bathrooms in the house, to prevent any waiting and all have showers included and one has a bath in which to soak.

The large lounge has leather sofas to relax in while you enjoy the view over the garden and to the countryside beyond.

The kitchen is fully equipped with all mod cons and is a lovely space to cook in. The dining room allows everyone to come together for meals with the dining table seating 20 people comfortably.

Set in a half acre of grounds this has is ideal for families with young children. In the summer there is nothing finer than eating al fresco and enjoying these wonderful surroundings.

Behind the house is countryside and across the road a golf course, the Dunes and then the 7 miles of beach.

Close to the sea and links golf course, Bell House offers spacious accommodation for a relaxing stay. Recently refurbished it provides all modern comforts with the character of a large older house, use as a base for exploring Somerset and the coast. Ideal for family reunions and celebrations, available all year.
It is situated in the village of Berrow, Somerset, close to 7 miles of beach. The nature reserve, a site which is noted for its unusual plants and birds is opposite, as is a championship golf course .

In Somerset you will find a wonderful mixture of heritage, countryside and coast. Nestling in the Mendip Hills is Wells – England’s smallest city with a beautiful cathedral.

Further south, you will be delighted by the quaint villages and stately houses built with honey-coloured stone.

This is a county alive with history and legend – walk in the footsteps of King Arthur and King Alfred, explore Exmoor – home of Lorna Doone and visit the mysterious Glastonbury Tor, rising out of the Somerset Levels (ancient wetlands) like a beacon. Long sandy beaches at Berrow contrasts with the dramatic rocky Exmoor coastline across the bay.

Somerset is cider and cheese country – why not see cheddar cheese being made in Cheddar Gorge or visit a Somerset cider producer to get a real taste of the West Country!

This is an area with a vibrant arts and crafts scene where many traditional skills are kept alive such as willow basket making which has been a feature of Somerset life for hundreds of years.

“Ideal for our large family get-together” Having read previous reviews we had mixed feelings especially with a tiny baby in the extended family group of 14 - but these were unfounded. The house was warm and clean on arrival - not perfect eg some stains on carpets - but when it is being rented by varying groups and with animals being allowed (we did not have any) it met our expectations. Despite the freezing weather we had a great time with so much to do in the area and so much space in the house. Thank you Paul.

“Great weekend Getaway” We spent a long weekend with friends including teenagers, we all found the property to be very spacious and very clean. The rooms were large and the bed linen extremely clean. We were in touch with the owner over the weekend and had no problem contacting him. Being very close to Burnham and Weston Super Mare, there was plenty to do, also a beach within walking distance was a hit with 'children'. Overall we had a fabulous weekend and would recommend the house to any large parties, the kitchen was very well equipped hosting nearly 2 of everything. We ordered a supermarket delivery to get there on the day we arrived, so only had to worry about packing our clothes. An excellent weekend was had by all.

“Ideal house for large group” We stayed at Bell House at the beginning of May with a group of 5 families. There were 17 of us ranging in age from 15 to 50 & the house was enjoyed by everyone. Bell House was larger than we expected with a big lounge, lovely large dining area with plenty of room for us all to eat together & a well equipped kitchen. The bedrooms were all very roomy & with 4 bathrooms no one ever had a wait for a shower. The house was very clean & everything was in working order. Paul, the owner, was easily contactable from booking through to arriving at Bell House & answered any queries we had without any delay. The garden was well laid out & would be ideal in the summer for bbqs. Bell House is in a great spot, being walking distance to the nearest beach with easy access to Weston Super Mare & Burnham. Overall this house was exactly what our group was looking for. Thankyou Paul.

“Great home for a holiday with a large group of friends” We have just returned from a fantastic weekend at Bell House. We were a party of 5 families with teenagers and the house was just perfect for our needs, and so spacious. It was very clean and tidy and catered well for a large group. Everything was in working order and the garden was lovely. The correspondence with the owner, Paul, was excellent from the time of booking right through to our stay. The bed sheets were crisp and clean and smelt lovely. The location was ideal being within walking distance from the beach. We would definitely recommend Bell House, it was a real home from home.

“So Disappointed. Property Not As Described” This property looks great online but the reality is very different. During our week stay we were subject to leaking sinks and toilets, water running down walls towards electrical sockets, 2 power shortages with no manual explaining how to sort anything, a dirty kitchen (including leaking washing machine pipe, filthy microwave and only one working oven), showers that went cold then dangerously hot and rubbish inc bottles, cans and cigarette butts left in the garden. Having tried to contact the landlord 3 times after the second power cut with no response we eventually managed to get hold of him 3 days later when he came round to sort the leaking washing machine pipe which had effectively flooded the kitchen. Having holidayed in many places in the UK with our family (including 7 children) this is by the far the worst property we have ever stayed in and quite frankly it is not suitable for rental. It is not recently refurbished. It is not a home from home as described and we will not be visiting again - ever.
