This amazing villa is ideally at the edge of the charming traditional village of Burgau at the edge of the SW Alentejano Natural Parque. The five minute walk to the sandy beach takes you downhill through quaint narrow cobbled streets with small shops, restaurants and past a slipway with fishing boats. The larger village of Luz , 4 km east, has more shops and facilities and larger still is the attractive historic town of Lagos, 12 km, for shopping, night-life, marina and zoo.
The villa is perfect for family holidays with 2 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and a private pool. A south facing sunny veranda and pool patio area provide plenty of sunbathing possibilities. Patio doors lead from the comfortably furnished living area and also from the well equipped kitchen to a sun drenched patio and pool area.
There is such a lot to do in the area. Activities include watersports boat trips for dolphin watching and visits to grottoes, riding, tennis, squash, football, cycling, walking the wonderful coastal paths and sampling the luscious local food and wines.

The Algarve region
Burgau is at the edge of the extensive South West Natural Park, a protected area of incredible natural beauty and variety. A walk along the coastal path reveals cliffs, small coves, rocky outcrops, grottoes and picture postcard views of the coastline. Drive to small fishing villages and remote beaches near Sagres and Cape St. Vincent, formerly known as world's end and continue up the west coast to see endless spectacular cliffs shaped by Atlantic waves. Inland the Monchique mountains are clothed with pine forests and oak, eucalyptus and fragrant almond trees.
The climate is near perfect with sunny, hot summers cooled by gentle sea breezes and bright, mild winters warmed by air currents from North Africa.
This region has attracted visitors for centuries and many races have recognised its unique position, natural harbours, climate and fertile soil and have left their mark on the architecture, crops and foods such as orange and olive groves. The people today are naturally friendly, polite and very welcoming to visitors.
This is the quieter, more scenic part of the Algarve where you can escape the cares and stresses of life and indulge in the sunshine, wonderful local foods, genuine friendliness of the people and the slower pace of life.
Burgau has a special magic that makes people return there again and again! The small traditional fishing village is full of character with very friendly people, brilliant weather, great food, a fabulous sandy beach, local shops and restaurants.
Look for bargains at the small daily morning market on your way down to the Beach which is at the bottom of a narrow cobbled street lined with small shops and cafes. The renowned Burgau Beach Bar on the beach has great food and is perfect to quench you thirst, gaze out to sea or relax in the shade.
The larger village of Luz is 4 Km, a short drive or a walk along the coastal path. Luz has more shops, restaurants & bars and bank, post office and chemist, dental clinics and a 24 hour doctor service, LuzDoc.
Just 15 minutes drive eastwards is the lovely palm fringed market town of Lagos which has lots of shops and restaurants lining its historic winding streets. The daily fish market is amazing and the weekly country produce market in Lagos is a must for the colour and variety of local produce and people.
Boat trips are available from Luz and Lagos for fishing, visiting coastal caves and grottoes and dolphin watching. You can swim with tame dolphins at Zoomarine, or have a day's fun at the water parks that are within easy reach.
In summer there is a regular local bus service to Lagos, Luz and nearby beaches and there is a wide variety of sports available in the area including all watersports, swimming lessons, tennis, squash, soccer, horse riding and quad biking.
The mild winters and year round sunshine make it perfect for golfers. There are more than 20 prime golf courses within an hour's drive and 2 renowned courses, Parque da Floresta and Boavista Golf are just 15 minutes away. Visitors are welcome and lessons are available on all courses, most of which require a handicap certificate and normal course etiquette.
