The Old School House has been lovingly converted & maintains many of the original features including the leaded windows that bring wonderful light to all the rooms. The living space of the cottage is spacious & bright and includes plenty of seating for up to 5 guests. A solid oak dining table & chairs overlooks the south facing garden whilst the kitchen is equipped with a fabulous 7 burner range for all keen cooks! The garden has outdoor sofas and dining table & chairs.
The two double rooms (one with a super king size bed & the other with the option of converting to a twin bed room) and Cosy single bedroom have plenty of the original features whilst offering hotel quality beds to ensure a good night sleep. The spacious bathroom has a power shower over a bathtub that also has a hand held shower. There is also a downstairs cloakroom.
The cottage is located in the heart of The Cotswolds in the village of Milton Under Wychwood and is next door to the historic village church (don't worry the bells only ring every other Sunday and are not loud at all!) whilst the historic towns of Burford, Stow on the Wold & Bourton on the Water are all within 10 minutes drive - Making it a perfect getaway for families or small groups of friends.

Entrance hall leads into the Lounge/dining area which is spacious and includes a sectional sofa, comfy armchair and nest of oak tables. A large oak dresser provides plenty of books on the region, reading books & games to play on rainy days! A flat screen TV with digi box offers all the poplular tv stations & DVD player is also offered. There is a digital radio with I Pod Docking capability. The dining Table has seating for up to 6 people and through the original arched leaded windows looks out over the sunny private south facing garden.
The kitchen provides a fabulous 7 burner range & plenty of crockery & pans etc to enable guests to create a delicious meal (the store cupboard is stocked with lots of condiments to save guests having to buy them!)
Upstairs the bedrooms have hotel quality mattresses to ensure a good nights sleep for everyone - Sunset Bedroom faces west and can be offered as twin or a kingsize bed, with wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside tables. Birdsong Bedroom faces South and overlooks the patio and historic church yard and has a superking size bed, large wardrobe, two chest of drawers & dressing table. Serenity Bedroom is a cozy single bedroom with chest of drawers and wardrobe.
The bathroom has a bathtub with shower attachment and overhead power shower. Single basin, toilet and heated towel rail as well as additional towel rail.

The sunny south & west facing garden has a paved area with outdoor sofas, large dining table and seats for up to 8 people, two lawn areas and an array of flowers & shrubs to create a wonderfully spacious private garden. A bbq is available for guests use. There is a large drive that easily accomodates 2 cars.
A welcome gift hamper is offered on arrival and includes fresh milk, bread, local cheese & home made cake. The deli in the village can deliver further items on request - details of the deli can be given upon booking. Complimentary toiletries are also provided

Milton Under Wychwood is within the 'golden triangle' of quintessential Cotswold villages & countryside. On the border of Gloucestershire & Oxfordshire the location thus gives a wealth of fantastic walks in stunning countryside. In addition with so many fabulous year round attractions nearby it doesn't matter what time of year, there is always plenty to do & see
Milton Under Wychwood offers a well stocked co-op market, fabulous deli & post office and fantastic adventure playground. Every Thursday the fish & chip van comes to the village green - best fish & chips for miles around! There is a great local pub serving delicious home cooked meals in the neighbouring village of Shipton Under Wychwood.

"The Best Honeymoon I Could Wish For"
The Old School House sits next to a church in a beautiful, quiet countryside. The idyllic environment lends itself to utter relaxation while supplying all the modern amenities to keep guests comfortable. The host does an exemplary job of catering to visitors' needs while also supplying a basket of local goodies to welcome you. With a location just down the road from a grocer and no more than twenty minutes drive to local Cotswold towns, this proved to be the best base for day travels and the wisest self-catering option for any guest.

"Most relaxing Christmas in years!"
Fantastic cottage - very clean and tastefully decorated with all facilities one could need. Welcome basket with lots of local cakes, biscuits, cheeses etc was a lovely touch. Great location, ideal for visiting Cotswold Wildlife Park, Birdland etc. Would definitely recommend and hope to return.

"Superb quality cottage - centrally located for surrounding Cotswold villages"
The cottage could not have been more welcoming - we arrived after dark, having travelled all da,y to find that the heating and lights were switched on and a more than generous welcome package had been left for our enjoyment. The cottage was spotlessly clean and the bed linen and towels were of excellent quality. The beds were very comfortable and for a cottage the rooms were quite spacious. The kitchen was very well equipped - to the point that my husband said "I bet they don't have this..." only to find it in the cupboard. The plumbing - pressure of shower, hot water etc., was very good, no noisy tank filling noises in the middle of the night. The heating and log burner were gas and very efficient - There was also a very good 'house guide' left by the owner.. We were travelling from outside of the UK and the owner contacted us the day before and on the evening of arrival to make sure all was OK for us - she was extremely helpful and obliging and we could not recommend this cottage highly enough. We were 4 adults travelling together and the cottage was more than spacious enough for us.

"Very comfortable and perfect location"
After a hectic week of sightseeing in London, we stayed at the Old School House for three nights. It was just what we hoped for - quiet, comfortable, picturesque. The location turned out to be perfect as it was central to the places we wanted to see in the Cotswolds but the village itself - Milton Under Wychwood - was not very touristy and felt like an authentic part of English rural life, especially when we lined up with the locals to buy fish and chips from the van that stops in the village green on Thursday nights. The village also had a supermarket and post-office. We organised for rental bikes to be delivered to the Old School House and went on quite a few rides around the area. I also had a fantastic massage from a local therapist - Windrush Therapies - who came with mobile massage table and set up in the living room. Lovely.
