"Beautiful setting, clean spacious property, friendly helpful owner... what more could you want?"

We wanted a property to have a family Golden Wedding celebration catering for nine adults and seven grandchildren aged 10 to 21.

Dinckley Court could not have been a better place. There is an extensive garden where the 'children' and 'adult children' could throw balls, play badminton or tennis or whatever took their fancy. There's even a large field at the side where we practiced our 8-iron golf shots. Those wanting a quieter life could sit quietly by the river or those feeling more sociable could converse at the picnic tables outside the conservatory or sit under the sideless marquee out of the hot sun.

There are four airy, bright en-suite bedrooms in the annex, a further en-suite bedroom next to the lounge, which we used for the adults. The other bedrooms in the main house were used by the grandchildren. The kitchen is very well equipped, spacious and light, being integral with the conservatory. As we wanted to spend time together, with the exception of 2/3 days, we mainly stayed in and everybody shared in the meal preparation.

The 'celebration' meal was held under the marquee on a warm sunny evening and was a perfect experience. The whole week was ideal; the property is big enough so that everybody is not on top of each other - you could have some personal downtime if you wanted it or play games in the lounge or race up and down to the river, whatever took your mood at the time - so tempers never got frayed and the tranquility was almost unnerving!

Annette, the owner, was the quintessence of helpfulness and made us all feel very welcome. When I think of the alternative of holding such an event in the claustrophobic confines of a hotel, I shudder. I could not recommend this property more even if I wrote a book on it!

P.S. The village of Dorchester and its Abbey (5 mins away) is well worth a visit.

"Luxury self-catering"

Dinckley Court is as described, a 8 bed mansion with a garden leading down to the River Thames. It sleeps 18 but we were only a party of 8 male golfers, so a bedroom each. It is very well equipped and we had a very friendly welcome and a complimentary bottle of bubbly. We were lucky with the weather so we enjoyed the BBQ facilities, sipping our Sauvignons in the evening sunlight and admiring the antics of the red kites above us. Only one minor quibble- the entrance to the propert from the road is easy to miss first time around and would benefit from a more prominent sign.

"We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Dinckley Court"

The property was very welcoming and clean. We all felt at home and Annette was very helpful. The property catered for our every need with plenty of space to socialise. It was perfect for all ages, both young and old, with a beautiful garden. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would be keen to visit again.

"Lovely house and helpful owner!"

Dinkley Court is a beautiful house with plenty of space and amenities. The conservatory is so pretty and light and there are lots of intetesting bits of furniture and art. We had a great stay for my hen weekend! The owner, Annette, was really helpful and posted us back some items we'd left there without charge. Very kind of her! I would definitely recommend this property to a friend and stay there again.

Stayed here in January for a surprise 30th birthday for my wife with family and friends (15 adults and 4 children under 3)

We travelled on a snowy winters day and I was delighted to find that the property was easy to find, in a great location but felt like we were in the middle of the country side.

My wife who had no idea where we was going was straight away impressed as we pulled up to the building and things just got better as we walked in to a warm, welcoming house. The Kitchen\conservatoty was a great place to get together, with under floor heating, great views to the garden and a kitchen fully equipped with everything you'll need for cooking for large groups. The bedrooms and living room were all well furnished and pretty much everyone had there own bathroom to use, the place really was faultless.

We did have plans to go out to Oxford on the Saturday but the majority of us made use of the house and the extensive Gardens which was covered in snow during our stay, it looked amazing and we all had great fun and didn't want the day to end. The pub just around the corner from the property (Chequers) was also a great place to relax after being out all day and they too were very welcoming and made us a number of original and really tasty cocktails.

On the Sunday, some of us went for a walk straight from the property, some went to Abingdon and some of just stayed at the property to watch the football on Sky, this place really did just keep everyone happy.

The owner Annette is lovely and is willing to help out with anything you need to make your weekend as special as she can, she was also available for any questions or advice either by email or Phone and she really did make organising the weekend away a delight.

Highly recommended for family stays and group events, Can't wait to return and experience this property again in the Summer.

"Fabulous Stay"

There were 14 adults, 4 children and 2 babies staying at Dinckley Court to celebrate my husbands 60th birthday and New Year. We had a brilliant time and found the house perfect. As it was a special occasion we booked the caterers reccomended by the owners and the meal was delicious. There was plenty of room for us all and we were never on top of each other except when in the kitchen as everyone wanted to help!. The weather was pretty awful but we managed to go for a few walks to the local pubs and have a lovely meal at The Chequers. It did stay dry for New Years Eve and we let off some fireworks which was great. I cannot fault anything at all except some people (adults, children seemed to like them) were not keen on the black hands and bust in the hall. We had a few minor hiccups, with a door sticking, broken DVD and kettle but these were sorted promptly. The house was spotless and there was plenty of cutlery etc.

"A superb stay...amazing property with extremely helpful owener"

The house is beautiful and well furnished; Dinckley Court is atmospheric and furnished tastefully. We enjoyed a hen weekend with 17 girls and found it a suitable location. We hosted a murder mystery dinner party one evening and found it the perfect setting.

The owner is lovely and extremely generous and helpful. She was always at the other end of the phone if needed and was certainly willing to go the extra mile to ensure we had an enjoyable and comfortable stay.

I would highly recommend this to anyone!

"Happy to recommend for groups"

Stayed here in Nov 2012 - a group of 14 adults - all 50 or so. We have been away together many times to many places. All were very happy with this accomodation, location and host. Plenty of room for our group, good walking, cycling, drinking and dining close by. We put kitchen tables together so could all sit round same table for meals. Kitchen was well equipped. No hesitation in recommending.

"great house for a family get-together"

This is a lovely setting for a family holiday, with loads of space and good accommodation. Our family has stayed there several times, and we have continued to enjoy itsconvenient location, its lovely garden with the river nearby, and the good facilities in the house. We love staying at Dinckley Court.

"Fantastic weekend away with friends"

I stayed at Dinckley court for a long weekend with friends (11 adults and 9 children under 5!). From the moment we booked Annette was extremely helpful, even going so far to buying a baby bath for the baby in the group!. The marquee in the garden was due to be put down before we arrived but I'd heard the weather was supposed to be nice and Annette kindly allowed the marquee to stay up for us. The house was spotless on arrival, there was ample space for all of us so that we never felt like we were under each others feet. The grounds are spectacular with seats right on the river. We enjoyed our stay so much that we are already trying to plan a return visit for next year!
