Another real find for us in an area we absolutely love. Mas St Louis is a great property and the countryside, tranquillity and views surrounding it are stunning. The key features with this property are the good standard of accommodation, tranquility, tradition and privacy, right in the midst of lovely countryside.
This is a traditional stone built farmhouse in the very heart of the Luberon, and can very comfortably accommodate 8 people in its two double and two single rooms, supplemented by sofa beds.
For most visitors, the thick stone walls and traditional shutters at the windows will be much welcomed to help you stay cool. That said, the same thick stone walls, and the traditional fireplace inside the house, would also make the house feel lovely and warm and cosy for winter evenings as well.

This property is located on the side of a hill, so it's got a unique layout over three levels. Conveniently, the kitchen is located a few steps away from the living area. The kitchen is well-equipped with pretty much anything you could need for a holiday, and the living area, with its cosy feel, is perfect for relaxing during the late evenings.
The four bedrooms are located around the property, and each one provides ample space for the occupants. They are each simply decorated, to provide a comforting environment for sleep. The two sofa beds are very comfortable, and bring the maximum occupancy up to eight, making this property ideal for a group of friends or extended family.

Outside, you'll find two terraces, both with great views of the surroundng scenery. One of these is large enough to accommodate the entire group dining al fresco - en experience enhanced if you use the supplied BBQ!
The property has a reasonably-sized garden, mainly planted with local Provencal plants and scrubland. The main feature of the outside, however, is the 8m x 4m pool, and the supplied loungers - ideal for enjoying the warm provencal summers!
Further details
Bed and bathroom linen, and tea towels, are not included in the rental cost. However, if you'd rather not bring your own, these can be hired from the owner at a cost of €8 per person per week.
The owner organises your end-of-stay cleaning for a fee of 50 Euros, payable locally.
The owner requests a damage deposit of 500 Euros on arrival and this will be refunded to you at the end of your stay, less the replacement cost of any breakages. This can be paid by cheque in your local currency if this is easier.

The scenery around this part of the Luberon is stunning. The peace and tranquility is broken only by the sounds of the crickets and the bells of distant goats as they forage in the hills - it really is idyllic!
Alongside this, there are many Regional summer festivities: theater in Avignon, opera in Aix and Orange, a jazz festival in La Roque d’Antheron and many antique fairs and flea markets. In addition, many of the local villages host their own festivals, and it's possible to find small local markets in most of the villages selling a plethora of local produce.
For the more active, there is Tennis available in Apt or Bonnieux, horse riding in Apt, mountain bikes for rent in Bonnieux.
If you like the idea of a visit to the coast, you can set off in the morning, take a swim in the warm waters of the Mediterranean and easily return in the early evening.
The Buoux area
The property is ideally placed for some marvelous countryside walks, and there are great views in all directions. The rocky outcrops that provide these views are also a climber's paradise, and there's pelnty of oppertunity nearby for this activity.
There are some excellent restaurants in the area and in particular in Buoux, the Auberge de la Loube is only 1km away - so you don't even have to drive! Before your meal, why not take an early-evening wander around Buoux, admiring the traditional 17th century housing?

If you choose to visit during the winter months, as small supplement is charged for winter heating. This is based on usage, which is measured using a meter.
Gas, electric, & water: These are all included in the rental cost.
The owner requests that you leave the property in the same clean and tidy state that you found it. However, the owner can arrange end-of-stay cleaning for and additional fee of 50 Euros, should you want to alleviate the chore.
Bed and bathroom linen, as well as tea towels, are not included in the rental cost. However, if you don’t want to bring your own, these can be rented for 8 Euros per person.
In France, it is necessary to pay a “Taxe de Séjour” at the end of your stay. It has been included here in the rental cost.
