The Old Coach House at the Old Rectory in Flixton near Bungay, is a one bedroom self catering holiday cottage. Situated on the border between Suffolk and Norfolk, and laying in grounds of almost seven acres – surrounded by farmland on three sides, the grounds are a haven for wildlife. The one bedroom cottage provides the ideal holiday location if you want to leave behind the strains of town or city living and relax in the tranquil surroundings of a Victorian rectory amidst rolling unspoilt Suffolk countryside.

Well behaved dogs are welcome

A clever conversion of the Rectory's Victorian stable block has resulted in a spacious single storey property, with excellent views over the Old Rectory's fruit orchard to the surrounding farm land. The high ceilings reinforce the ambience of spaciousness, add a log burner for those romantic winter evenings and The Old Coach House offers a perfect retreat to escape from the pressures of a busy life.

The Old Coach House features:

•Lounge/dining area with excellent views;
•Well equipped modern kitchen;
•Period features retained where possible;
•Bedroom with a King-size bed made up with cotton linen;
•en-suite wet room;
•Ideal for less mobile guests.

The holiday cottage has a 4-Star assessment by VisitEngland. In addition the cottage has received the accolade of a coveted Gold Award – reserved for accommodation that provides exceptional quality in all areas but in particular in service and hospitality

We normally welcome you personally to The Old Rectory and show you around your cottage. We are here during your stay in the event that you wish to contact us. We have a good knowledge of the local area which enables us to recommend places or events that many visitors to the area do not get the opportunity to experience and our philosophy is to go the “extra mile” to ensure you have a really enjoyable holiday!

We offer short breaks between October and the end of April, but it is always worthwhile telephoning us or looking at our website at other times if you are arranging a last minute break.

The village pub is a short stroll away from the cottages, The village is also the home of the fascinating Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum.

The Suffolk Heritage Coast is also within easy driving distance. The area is a paradise for walkers and birdwatchers.

“as dry as Jerusalem, particularly Suffolk, with about the same rainfall” - Collette Nicholls Anglian Water media manager.

Suffolk, has an excellent sunshine record when compared to the rest of the UK and research has shown that it enjoys two more hours of sunshine a week than the national average.
