About the home

This architect designed barn conversion has just been renovated to the highest standards. This stunning barn conversion is set in a small village, close to the towns of Buje, Umag and Novigrad which has restaurants, supermarkets, bars etc.

Beautifully restored throughout, the house combines old and new perfectly, with stone walls, high ceiling with beams sitting alongside the contemporary furniture and stylish kitchen and bathrooms. From both bedrooms, French doors lead out onto a private courtyard. From the lounge, a large farmhouse door leads out to covered relaxing area and sun terrace with private swimming pool. There is a distant sea view.

There is a large selection of adult and children's films on the hard drive connected to the TV. XBox with games.
We have children, so there are plenty of toys, children's books, childrens bowls, plates and cutlery. We also have a baby stuff available: baby bottle steriliser, baby chair/bouncer, changing mat, UV sun tent, baby trainer seat for the pool.

There is FREE WIFI available at the barn.

The upper sun terrace has a private swimming pool (7m x 3.5m) with Roman steps and provides a vast amount of space for soaking up the sun and lounging around the pool. The pool and terrace has the sun all day.

To escape the sun there is a covered terrace with L-shaped outside sofa and coffee table.

Steps from the upper terrace take you down to the lower terrace. This walled and private courtyard (which is also accessible from both bedrooms) also has a trampoline for the kids (adults) to enjoy!

To the rear of the upper terrace there is a large kids area with tree swing, hanging chair, ladder and stepping stones (logs).

Sun loungers are provided and there is a large outside table and chairs and BBQ.

The Istria region

Istria the region
A large, triangular peninsular in northwest Croatia, Istria has an identity all of its own. Historically it has close ties with Italy and still today, many towns, especially on the western side, are bilingual. It’s notably ahead of the rest of the country regarding current trends: restaurants serve beautifully presented creative cuisine, farmhouses dish up local specialities and the tourist office has set up a series of cycle routes and wine roads.

Lying on the tip of the peninsular is Pula, with a first-century Roman forum as the main square and an ancient amphitheatre dominating the skyline. Close by are the islands of Brijuni National Park, which once served as the summer residence of the late President Tito.

Croatia’s most popular seaside resorts lie on the Istrian west coast: Porec, home to a splendid sixth-century basilica decorated with stunning golden Byzantine mosaics, and neighbouring Rovinj, made up of ochre-and russet-coloured houses clustered around a pretty fishing harbour, crowned by a hilltop church.

Moving inland to the Scre Istre (Heart of Istria), narrow country roads meander through a gently rolling landscape of woodland and vineyards.

Istria’s rugged pine covered forests, deserted beaches, undiscovered coves and breathtaking fjords offer fabulous aerial vistas for hang-gliding and para-gliding, while Istria’s sailing and water sports, like much of Croatia are a world class opportunity.

The Buje area

The local hilltop town of Buje has a supermarket, bakers, butchers, bank, internet cafe, bars and restaurants and this is a short drive away.
There are open air farmers markets in Porec and Rovinj. Fresh fruit, vegetables, olive oil, honey and much more are available at these markets. Biking and walking trails are nearby.

“Stylish and Comfortable - Everything you need for the Perfect Break!” Situated in a remote but active little hamlet, this beautiful barn conversion provides everything you need for a relaxing and comfortable holiday. The property is spacious and well equipped with a good size pool and patios, providing a range of outdoor living areas. Great proximity to both the coast and delightful hilltop villages/local towns. All up ... the perfect base for a restful or active holiday in a stunning part of Croatia.

“Great loctaion and Villa off the Beaten Track” We had a really great time. Loved the area and the Villa and the Hill Top towns. Only down side was it is about 30 minutes away from the Coast. Having your own pool and space made up for it. Looks like only just refurbed and having AirCon was essential in June. Would would certainly go back. Also food in the area is great and good value. The restaurant nearby is really quirky but if you go for Pasta with Truffles it's quite pricey. Incidenatlly we flew in and out of Venice (About 2.00 hrs away) and killed two birds with one stone.

“An attractive, comfortable base for exploring a wonderful region” Casita Lozari is a stylish and spacious conversion of an old stone building in the midst of a tiny hamlet quite high up in central Istria. Spotlessly clean and well-equipped, with the bonus of a comprehensive (English-language) film library on the TV hard drive. The two terraces with a reasonable-sized (unheated) pool are well-finished off, albeit overlooked. Lozari itself has no facilities (the agroturismo restaurant didn't open during our stay in early June), but Buje about 10 minutes drive away has supermarkets (go to Mercator, not Konsum), and the very attractive coastal towns (particularly Novigrad and Rovinj) are well under an hour away.
