The Powys/Brecon Beacons region

Builth Wells is a historic market town and home to The Royal Welsh Showground. It is set on the banks of The River Wye, a favourite hotspot for fishing and canoeing among other things. The commanding Cambrian mountains and picturesque Elan Valley can be found to the West, the stunning landscape of the Brecon Beacons to the South and charming Radnorshire to the North.

Builth Wells is within the county of Powys which covers a quarter of Wales and is home to just 1 person per 10 acres. This means the wildlife, flora and fauna is abundant, varied and untouched. Those who love the great outdoors will feel very at home here. People come here to relax, attend festivals, go fishing, walking, hiking, canoeing, mountainbiking, sailing, horseriding, birdwatching, cycling the national cycle route, chugging along on the Vale of Rheidol steam train, visiting the Gigrin Kite Feeding Centre, walking the Elan Valley and other nearby areas of outstanding natural beauty,.

Totter around the shops and coffee shops of traditional market towns such as Rhayader, visit the Victorian Spa town of Llandrindod Wells and just generally soak up the mass of never ending spectacular scenery and equally beautiful residents.

Builth Wells

Builth Wells is a place for family holidays and romantic breaks alike. It is within easy driving distance of many beautiful places of interest and has things to do for all ages. The town itself has a thriving theatre, plenty of coffee shops, lots of outdoor activities to offer and a hearty warm welcome for everyone, from Gran to the family dog! If you'd like to opt out of the 'fast lane' for a while, time really does look like it has stood still here recently. Good old fashioned manners and customs are everywhere, as are people who genuinely have the time for you.

It's a pleasure to stay in Builth Wells and we hope it never catches up with the 'real world'. Visit Builth Wells if you'd like to stop, think, observe, reflect, enjoy, breathe, unwind, be creative, read a book, play a game, go on an adventure, write a poem, pen a story, watch birds feeding, flowers blossoming, sheep bleating and cows moo'ing. It really does have it all for that well deserved break!

"Great Value for money!!"

Our 3 night stay was booked at very short notice and the owner was very helpful in making sure that our needs were met.
The property was well equipped and in a very quiet location.
The beautiful town of Builth was within walking distance with shops and friendly pubs.
Only down side was that the property could do with a makeover.
Overall - great value for money and I would recommend this property for a relaxing holiday or break.
