Blaenau Mawr Self-Catering Holiday Cottages are situated on Blaenau Mawr Farm, a working livestock farm in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park. This is an area of outstanding natural beauty, clean air and tranquil countryside.This is an ideal base for walking holidays, with National Park footpaths close by and easy access to the mountains, and for exploring the surrounding area. Just an easy 15-minute stroll down the hill from Neuadd Fach, Dew, Well Cottage is the Farmers Arms pub in Cwmdu. A family run pub with a restaurant area, it offers a wide range of tasty meals from simple baguettes to prime Welsh steaks. Pop in for a bit of banter with the locals and a tasty home-cooked meal made with local produce. The uphill walk home helps make a meal at this friendly local a guilt-free pleasure! Discover Tretower 3 miles up the road is Tretower Court and Castle. The castle is a classic moat and bailey example dating from 1150 with additions made in the 13th century. Tretower Court was recently refurbished and re-opened to the public and is thought to originally date from the 14th century and still boasts many fantastic examples of timberwork from that era as well as a delightful reconstructed 15th century garden. A trip to Tretower is a fantastic window into medieval life in the area.

We do weekends in all the other cottage from 250 pounds fri to Sat and week bookings too 350 7nights.
Changeover day
Summer Saturaday to Saturday.
Winter, Spring and Autum weekend are Available or mid week breaks too.
Accommodation
Bedrooms: Bedroom 1 with double bed.
Bedroom 2 with two single twin beds and downstairs 1 double bed.
Bathrooms: Up stairs is a Bathroom has a bath with power shower over, hand basin and toilet. The downstairs shower room has a handbasin, toilet and shower.
Kitchen: Ty-obery offers a fully equipped and well designed oak kitchen with a built in oven, gas hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge.
Utility Room: Fridge freezer.
Living Rooms: Sitting room has a sofa and chairs with coffee table, TV with Freeview, DVD and CD player and with a wood burner.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service: The barn is cleaned at the end of a holiday, if guests wish to stay longer than a week, we prefer to clean the barn weekly and change the linen too. For maid service ask when booking. Linen and towels are provided. Beds made for guests arrival.

Notes on accommodation
The Barn is decorated to a high standard, good quality soft furnishings have been used through out. Wood burner with logges Oil central heating included in price. There are oak floor boards upstairs and in the lounge, oak window sills and beams. The accommodation is focused on families or friends and being comfortable and able to enjoy good hospitality. The kitchen is spacious with lots of workspace, good quality appliances and utensils.

Accessibility
The Barn has one bedroom on the ground floor and a Shower room on the ground floor. The Barn and its location are not suitable for wheelchairs. There are Three steps down from the car park and by the side a slop to courtyard sitting room one level. One step into Barn, In to kitchen, hall and sitting & Room on one level. There is a gate from court yard to car park and this surface is grass and fairly level. The area around the barn is natural.
Outside
The Barn has a flat lawn and a level gravel courtyard. BBQ and Garden Furniture. The Barn and surrounding land are a safe environment but parents must be responsible for their children at all times. Car park for 2 or more cars.
Across courtyard 10m is stable with games room, extra ground floor bedroom with wet room, tea/coffee/fridge/TV ask owner when booking if facilities are needed. There will be a charge for the stable.

Great walking in the beacons and the black mountains.

from the north M5 to M50 at Ross, M50 to A40 from Ross to Monmouth to Abergavenny to Hall farm, 4.5 miles from Abergavenny, first turn left along A40.
Sunday bus for Walkers begins in May info on request.

Abergavenny has the Butcher's Shop featured on Lambing Live, plus a bakery/ chemists /super stores /petrol stations (24hr)/small Tesco and other shops/several take away food out lets. There is a Waitrose supermarket near Abergavenny. 24hr super market at Ebbw Vale. Small supermarket Brecon and Brynmawr.
