The Algarve / West Algarve region
The Algarve is a very popular holiday destination with over 3000 hours of sunshine a year and a coastline that is similar to Cornwall. Historically there is a strong North African influence which is evident in the local architecture of the historical town of Lagos and the Moorish Castle at Silves. The most westerly point in Europe Cape St Vincent, Sagres and Henry the Navigator School of Navigation just a short drive away. The West Coast of Portugal is well worth a visit as it is totally unspoilt with small villages and sandy bays just waiting to be explored. Boat trips from the marina at Lagos range from dolphin expeditions to a leisurely sailing trip along the coast. Monchique the highest point on the Algarve is a lovely picturesque drive with many villages, bars and restaurants on route.
After the sight seeing there are a number of Waterparks, Zoomarine, Lagos Zoo and many other attractions to keep everyone entertained. Oh of course there is also shopping for shoes and ceramics amongst the many shops at the Algarve Shopping Centre and Faro.
Budens / Parque da Floresta area
The lifestyle that this location offers enables you to get back to the simple pleasures of life. Budens is a small Algarve village with a limited number of shops. However, it does have all the essentials, a supermarket, bakery, bars and a small number of traditional restaurants where the food served is varied but not of the chips with everything variety. The nearby sandy beach at Salema is a pleasant stroll away for the energetic or a five minute drive. Salema is a traditional fishing village with a number of restaurants overlooking the sea where you can sample the local catch.

Further details indoors: The house is the ex-showhome of the site with furnishings and fittings maintained to a high standard. Cots and high chairs can be arranged on request at a small additional charge. There is a selection of book's, video's, DVDs, CDs and games available for your use. Or just while away the evenings in the local restaurants or with a drink in your hand soaking up the peaceful tranquility from the balcony. Even beach towels and a safe is provided.
Further details outdoors: The pool area consists of a heated pool (Easter to October) a children's pool, toilets, changing rooms and sun bathing area with loungers. At Parque da Floresta there is a large outdoor pool, children's pool, club and play area (at a small charge) plus bars and restaurants. All the sporting facilities at Parque da Floresta are available for your use with a discount off golf.
