About the home
A lovely family house situated very close to all ameneties and within a seven minute flat walk to the beach at Crooklets Bay. Bude town with its good array of shops and restaurants is within a five minute walk and the golf course is opposite the house. We have arrange special rates with the club to golfers who would like to join on a temporary membership.
The house has four bedrooms, two doubles (one en-suite), a twin room and a bunk bedroom. A separate sitting room from a children's "snug" which means no arguing as to who watches what on television or if the grown ups want peace and quiet to sit and read! A small enclosed garden, garage for wet suit and surf board storage - all in all a lovely house for families and friends who like to be near the centre of town but just far enough out not to be bothered by the hubub.

A lovely brick built Edwardian house, Arden House is perfect for groups and families and sleeps up to eight. Wake up in the morning and look over the greens and fairways of this renowned links golf course and take the short stroll to the beach or town.

The West Country / Cornwall region
The North Cornwall coast is a very popular destination for those looking for the spectacular scenery on offer and the superb, many very secluded, beaches that this area has. A terrific place for peace and tranquillity as well as breathtaking walks - with Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor very close by. Many places of historic interest to visit such as Lanyhdrock House, Tintagel Castle, the Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan all within a reasonable drive of our house.
The Bude area
Bude offers good shopping, a good array of restaurants and pubs. Splash swimming pool has a flume and health suite, and there is a leisure complex for bowling and indoor play. Boats can be hired on Bude canal and there is windsurfing, sailing, kayaking (either just hire or book lessons) at Lower Tamar Lake.
We have an arrangement with the local Links course, Bude and North Cornwall, for our guests and there are good courses at nearby Holsworthy, St Enedoc and the Jack Nicklaus designed St Mellion.
Widemouth Bay is considered one of the best surfing beaches in the area and we can arrange lessons for beginners and improvers. Bude has two superb beaches, Summerleaze and Crooklets, both ideal for bathing and surfing and Bude has one of the few remaining sea pools in the country which is perfect for youngsters when the waves are a little fierce. Lifeguards patrol most beaches and the pool throughouth the summer months. There are outdoor pursuit centres nearby, tennis, squash, horseriding, bowls and a gym in the town.
There are many National Trust properties nearby; Lanhydrock, Cotehele, Arlington Court and The Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan are about and hour and a half in the car. Morwellham Quay is a great insight into a Victorian harbour and how it worked and there are many other attractions as well as the fantastic scenery and coastal activities on offer.

Another fun filled week in Arden House! We love the size and space this house has to offer, the kitchen is fantastic for getting everyone in together! The rooms are spacious, clean and very comfortable, the bed linen is a real treat after a day down the beach! The bathrooms and showers again are fab and the wet room as you come in from the garden is a great idea. The weather allowed lots of sand castles ,surfing and bodyboarding on the fine beaches that bude has to offer! Bude is great for walking and is very managable with young children as no where is too far thanks to the great location of the house. There is plenty of pubs and restaurants to choose from in and around bude, again making it really ideal for families. Great craft fairs and exhibitions on at the castle. The girls enjoyed a morning of pampering at Tekka whilst the boys went for a round of golf! So there really is something for everyone and you will never be stuck for somewhere to go or something to do! We already look forward to next year when we will be coming yet again for our little slice of heaven in Devon/Cornwall! As always thanks for a wonderful stay. |
