The West Country region
The North Cornwall coast is a very popular destination for those looking for the spectacular scenery on offer and the superb, many very secluded, beaches that this area has. A terrific place for peace and tranquillity as well as breathtaking walks - with Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor very close by. Many places of historic interest to visit such as Lanyhdrock House, Tintagel Castle, the Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan all within a reasonable drive of our house.
Bude offers good shopping, a good array of restaurants and pubs. Splash swimming pool has a flume and health suite, and there is a leisure complex for bowling and indoor play. Boats can be hired on Bude canal and there is windsurfing, sailing, kayaking (either just hire or book lessons) at Lower Tamar Lake.
We have an arrangement with the local Links course, Bude and North Cornwall, for our guests and there are good courses at nearby Holsworthy, St Enedoc and the Jack Nicklaus designed St Mellion.
Widemouth Bay is considered one of the best surfing beaches in the area and we can arrange lessons for beginners and improvers. Bude has two superb beaches, Summerleaze and Crooklets, both ideal for bathing and surfing and Bude has one of the few remaining sea pools in the country which is perfect for youngsters when the waves are a little fierce. Lifeguards patrol most beaches and the pool throughouth the summer months. There are outdoor pursuit centres nearby, tennis, squash, horseriding, bowls and a gym in the town.
There are many National Trust properties nearby; Lanhydrock, Cotehele, Arlington Court and The Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan are about and hour and a half in the car. Morwellham Quay is a great insight into a Victorian harbour and how it worked and there are many other attractions as well as the fantastic scenery and coastal activities on offer.

"Idyllic, spacious but cosy, modern but character filled accommodation."

"A fabulous house in a fantastic location, gorgeous beaches and views to take your breath away!"
Another fun filled week in Arden House! We love the size and space this house has to offer, the kitchen is fantastic for getting everyone in together! The rooms are spacious, clean and very comfortable, the bed linen is a real treat after a day down the beach! The bathrooms and showers again are fab and the wet room as you come in from the garden is a great idea. The weather allowed lots of sand castles ,surfing and bodyboarding on the fine beaches that bude has to offer! Bude is great for walking and is very managable with young children as no where is too far thanks to the great location of the house. There is plenty of pubs and restaurants to choose from in and around bude, again making it really ideal for families. Great craft fairs and exhibitions on at the castle. The girls enjoyed a morning of pampering at Tekka whilst the boys went for a round of golf! So there really is something for everyone and you will never be stuck for somewhere to go or something to do! We already look forward to next year when we will be coming yet again for our little slice of heaven in Devon/Cornwall! As always thanks for a wonderful stay.

"Nice House - Despite Strange Setting - Ideal for Dogs"
THE HOUSE: Our family consists of 2 adults, a 5 year old daughter and 2 labrador dogs. When we pulled up at Arden House in Aug 2012, we were disappointed with the location. The street itself is some… More

We stayed with a group of friends during a beautiful weekend in March and we were all wowed by the beautiful house. No detail had been forgotten and each and every room was beautifully decorated to a very high standard. The large kitchen dinner was a particularly good space for socialising and the open fire in the lounge was perfect to cosy up in the evenings.
I would thoroughly recommend a stay at Arden house and hope to go back soon.

"A wonderful property in a beautiful part of Cornwall."
Review Submitted: April 16, 2010 Date of Stay: March 2010
We knew we were in for a real treat having seen the pictures and read the description for Arden House on Elite West Holidays website and we were certainly not disappointed - what a beautiful home!!!
Arden House is a lovely home which was so easy to settle in to and which we didn't want to leave!!! The house has lovely views of the golf course, has access to the local shops and is within 7 minutes easy walk of Crooklets beach and the coastal path. The only time we needed to get in the car was when we wanted to go sightseeing outside of Bude. The layout of the property was excellent too as there were 4 adults and our 8 year old daughter, who loved the second sitting room and treated this as her own for reading, watching television and playing games. The front sitting room was bright and comfy but also lovely and cosy on cold March nights, with a great log fire burning.
The facilities were excellent and well maintained and we wanted for nothing the whole time we were there. The kitchen has everything you need and in itself is a lovely room to sit, eat and chat in.
The service provided by Elite West Holidays was brilliant and they proved to be so helpful, as we sent several emails before our arrival and all of these were answered very quickly with all the information we required and more.
We would have no hesitation in recommending Arden House and Elite West Holidays to our friends, family and anyone else looking for a lovely place to stay in Bude and excellent customer service.
We ourselves are hoping to return to Arden House next year and have already booked another property with Elite West Holidays for August 2010 for a larger party of family and friends.

"arden house by far the best"
Arden House by far the best
Review Submitted: September 28, 2010 Date of Stay: September 2010
I am happy to write a review about Arden house it is the most comfortable house that we have stayed in at Cornwall. We have been on holiday in Cornwall for a lot of years and have stayed in a lot of self catering properties but Arden house is my favorite so far it was clean beautiful excellent beds everything you could need for a really good holiday. There was even bowls and towel for our dog. There is numerous modern technology and furnishings but it still remains relaxed and very tasteful. I would definitely recommend to anyone and I hope to return in the future. I would also like to say how great Nick is nothing is a bother and he helped to make our holiday happen cheers!
