A really lovely property with good views from the upstairs bedrooms of the sea and really light and airy rooms throughout the house. With an open plan kitchen/diner/sitting room leading through patio doors to the enclosed garden, there is a further sitting room with television, children's board games and table football. About 400 yards from the renowned beach at Crooklets Bay and a short walk to Bude town where there are good restaurants, shops and pubs.

The West Country / Cornwall region
The North Cornwall coast is a very popular destination for those looking for the spectacular scenery on offer and the superb, many very secluded, beaches that this area has. A terrific place for peace and tranquillity as well as breathtaking walks - with Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor very close by. Many places of historic interest to visit such as Lanyhdrock House, Tintagel Castle, the Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan all within a reasonable drive of our house.
The Bude area
Bude offers good shopping, a good array of restaurants and pubs. Splash swimming pool has a flume and health suite, and there is a leisure complex for bowling and indoor play. Boats can be hired on Bude canal and there is windsurfing, sailing, kayaking (either just hire or book lessons) at Lower Tamar Lake.
We have an arrangement with the local Links course, Bude and North Cornwall, for our guests and there are good courses at nearby Holsworthy, St Enedoc and the Jack Nicklaus designed St Mellion.
Widemouth Bay is considered one of the best surfing beaches in the area and we can arrange lessons for beginners and improvers. Bude has two superb beaches, Summerleaze and Crooklets, both ideal for bathing and surfing and Bude has one of the few remaining sea pools in the country which is perfect for youngsters when the waves are a little fierce. Lifeguards patrol most beaches and the pool throughouth the summer months. There are outdoor pursuit centres nearby, tennis, squash, horseriding, bowls and a gym in the town.
There are many National Trust properties nearby; Lanhydrock, Cotehele, Arlington Court and The Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan are about and hour and a half in the car. Morwellham Quay is a great insight into a Victorian harbour and how it worked and there are many other attractions as well as the fantastic scenery and coastal activities on offer.

Our stay in this fabulous house located in Bude DougAl28 Worcestershire Review Submitted: September 22, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009 We have recently returned from our holiday in Bude where we stayed in the accommodation detailed. On entering the house it was exactly like it was in the pictures and the description on the website and was beautifully clean and well maintained and easily accommodated the nine of us who were staying in the property. We had two 8 year olds with us and they loved the games room, which became their own private den and we found there were enough sets of plates, cutlery, cups, etc for all of us. The views were fantastic and the location to the beach, local shops and walks along part of the coastal path were amazing and meant that we did not have to get in the car for anything if we didn't feel like travelling, which made for a nice relaxing holiday. We received the most wonderful customer service from 'Nick' who replied to every email quickly and these were full of information and help in response to our numerous questions. It was also nice to discover while on holiday in the property they were also available at the end of the phone and again responded very quickly to our request for assistance. We would definitely recommend this property to a friend or relative and are looking to hopefully return ourselves in the New Year. We used the website a lot before going on holiday and this was most useful for researching places to eat before going and we ate at 'Elements' which is detailed on the website and had the most lovely meal, so much so we went back and had our last meal there as well. The food was excellent and so was the service as they were most helpful in fitting 9 of us in at very short notice. We would highly recommend this property and the services of Nick. |

We had a wonderful stay in Salty's for a week in August 2011 – with our three children, aged 4, 12 and 15 years. On arrival the house was immaculate and exactly as shown in the photographs. We were all very impressed and eagerly unpacked and got ourselves settled in. All three kids loved the downstairs play/TV room with the table football being particularly popular. We found the kitchen to be extremely well equipped and made use of the BBQ on a few occasions. Bedrooms were large, nicely decorated with extremely comfortable beds - we all slept well every night. Nick could not have been more helpful when we contacted him just a week before our arrival to ask about feather bedding as 3 of our party have allergies. He went out of his way to find out that indeed there was feather bedding and went so far as to purchase new non feather duvets for our stay. He also helped us out when we needed some tickets for Eden project posted to us. He took delivery of them on our behalf and then dropped them round personally to the house. Fantastic service. The house was certainly warm but with a lovely sea breeze and the large balcony/patio doors open the house was very comfortable. The utility room downstairs with washing machine and tumble drier was brilliant. It was so warm that any wash done of an evening would be dry by morning. The location was also perfect for our family - closer to the beach than we had realised, just a few minutes walk. Sainsbury's was also so close that shopping was no chore at all and we also enjoyed a drink and lunch in the nearby Inn on the Green which was very child friendly. We came to Bude for a beach holiday and were not disappointed. Crooklets beach was stunning with something for everyone – body boarding, san a plenty and rock pools to investigate. We highly recommend Salty's! |

Just a quick note to say thank you for a fantastic holiday during our stay at Salty's. Alice had a brilliant birthday and everyone was very impressed with the house. Salty's was an excellent house with the most magnificent views and was lovely and clean on arrival (which with it being the end of season, is no mean feat after all those different people staying in it). We would also like to compliment you on your website as this enabled us to do lots of research before we came down to Bude and we ended up having the most lovely meal at Elements one of the restaurants mentioned.
