A fantastic holiday home that sleeps 10. There are four en suite bedrooms and an outdoor hot shower to wash away the sand and salty sea after a day riding the Cornish surf. With a well stocked village shop within a hundred metres, excellent local pub with good food and great views, two excellent and family friendly restaurants all nearby (plus the take away fish and chip shop during the summer months) this is a perfect house for families and friends who want to be right on the beach yet staying in real comfort and style.

An "upside down" house with two bedrooms (double and twin) on the ground floor and the living areas and master bedroom and children's bunk bedroom upstairs.

A private patio area, secluded and sheltered so even on a breezy day you can sit outside and dine. The balcony has a small table and two chairs and is perfect for sitting and watching the world go by.

The West Country / Cornwall region
The North Cornwall coast is a very popular destination for those looking for the spectacular scenery on offer and the superb, many very secluded, beaches that this area has. A terrific place for peace and tranquillity as well as breathtaking walks - with Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor very close by. Many places of historic interest to visit such as Lanyhdrock House, Tintagel Castle, the Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan all within a reasonable drive of our house.
The Bude / Widemouth Bay area
Bude offers good shopping, a good array of restaurants and pubs. Splash swimming pool has a flume and health suite, and there is a leisure complex for bowling and indoor play. Boats can be hired on Bude canal and there is windsurfing, sailing, kayaking (either just hire or book lessons) at Lower Tamar Lake.
We have an arrangement with the local Links course, Bude and North Cornwall, for our guests and there are good courses at nearby Holsworthy, St Enedoc and the Jack Nicklaus designed St Mellion.
Widemouth Bay is considered one of the best surfing beaches in the area and we can arrange lessons for beginners and improvers. Bude has two superb beaches, Summerleaze and Crooklets, both ideal for bathing and surfing and Bude has one of the few remaining sea pools in the country which is perfect for youngsters when the waves are a little fierce. Lifeguards patrol most beaches and the pool throughouth the summer months. There are outdoor pursuit centres nearby, tennis, squash, horseriding, bowls and a gym in the town.
There are many National Trust properties nearby; Lanhydrock, Cotehele, Arlington Court and The Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan are about and hour and a half in the car. Morwellham Quay is a great insight into a Victorian harbour and how it worked and there are many other attractions as well as the fantastic scenery and coastal activities on offer.

What a fabulous house and stunning location. It was so good we have booked again this year which reminded us to write a review for last year's stay! A brilliant, modern house with all the facilities you could wish for – it even has a hot shower outdoors for washing off the sand from the beach which is 30 seconds from the house, which was great for the children. There is a very well equipped kitchen and great views from the balcony and sitting room. Comfy beds and piping hot showers in all the bathrooms. Widemouth Bay was great with a brilliant surfing beach (great for swimming too) and there is a good surfboard/wetsuit hire shop (with very helpful people and good prices). The local fish and chip shop is a must as well as the local pub the Bay View Inn which looks over the sea – some excellent restaurants locally too – Elements and the Brocksmoor were two particular favourites. We really could not fault this fantastic family house – it was perfect for us and our children. We spent a lot of time sitting on the balcony overlooking the sea while the younger ones splashed to varying degrees of success in the water! With the house so close to the beach, it is handy that you can just nip back to the house if you want anything and you don't have to worry about parking as there is plenty of space at the house. All in all a great house for a great holiday! |

LucyH1 France Review Submitted: January 14, 2010 Date of Stay: December 2009 As a family consisting of 6 adults and two children we spent a wonderful Christmas at Croft House. The accommodation is just wonderful, with very modern fixtures and fittings and the most comfortable beds ever! There was plenty of room for all of us and the attention to details was second to none - Nick, the manager of the property, even put in a Christmas Tree for us! The views from the main living space were fantastic and the lovely beach of Widemouth Bay just 5 mins walk which was fantastic for both dogs and children to run around on. The house was very warm and clean. Nick at Elite West Holidays was so very helpful and very efficient in all communication. I would highly recommend this house and would love to return one day! |

Gilly West Midlands Date of Stay: December 2010 We are a family of 5 (2 ad,boy 15,girl 13,boy 11 + dog) & family of 4 (2 ad, 2 boys 15 & 13 + dog) who wanted somewhere to spend a xmas break together & we got just what we ordered when we picked Croft House in Widemouth Bay, Bude! As I had booked this break for both families on what i had seen on the Internet, as we got nearer to the house i started to panic in case the pics that we had seen of the house were old or different or something like that -so when we arrived & we went into the house & saw just what we were staying in for the next few days, well quite frankly we were all very PLEASED, WOWED, HAPPY, DELIGHTED, AMAZED, ETC -We had a fab time & i would like to say that the house was exceptionally clean & warm & well cared for & to be honest we really didn't want to come home!! We had a great meal at The Bay View Inn, which was in walking distance, on Boxing Day, recommended in a book at the property, which was very helpful thanks. Views of the sea from the house were great too, it is literally 2 mins from the beach. There was also a very nice 'welcome basket' of goodies waiting for us, which was appreciated, all in all we had a very happy & wonderful Christmas break at Croft House & I would recommend it to any of my friends, but not for Christmas ..........only because I would want to keep that for us!!!! We would love to go back again. |
