Driftwood is large enough for family and friends get togethers, but is equally suitable for corporate meetings/events. The dining table can easily become a conference table! The house has been decorated and furnished to a Five Star Visit Britain standard. Bude is famous for its Surfing and Water sports and historically for having the Bude Canal with its working sea lock. The links Golf course is a great attraction too.

The comfortable lounge has leather sofas, TV/Freeview and DVD player. The kitchen/diner has a TV, table to seat 16, fridge/freezer, range cooker, two dishwashers and microwave. The utility room has an American fridge freezer with ice maker/filtered water, washing machine, tumble dryer and sink. There are 7 bedrooms, sleeping up to 16. Plus space for travel cots. There are 5 bath/shower rooms. (1 en suite). The games room has a TV/Freeview, PS3 (remember your games & films) and a Bar Billiards table.
The bedroom types are - 4 king bed bedrooms, 1 Twin bed bedroom, 1 Bunk bed bedroom, and a bedroom with 3 single beds plus extra pullout full size single bed.

There is a balcony overlooking the golf course - an idyllic place to sit and watch the world go by with a glass of bubbly in your hand! A secure garden at the rear is a great space to enjoy those BBQ's with space for children to let off steam. Parking in the garage for one car plus additional car parking space to the side. There is plenty of space to store those surf boards, wetsuits or golfing equipment.

The West Country / Cornwall region
If you want to venture further afield then places like Boscastle, Port Isaac and Clovelly are a short drive, or you can hop on a ferry at Bideford and visit Lundy Island. For that special meal or just a Cornish Cream Tea then the many Restaurants and Tea Rooms in Bude are waiting to serve you. Rick Steins Seafood Restaurant and Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen are only a 45 minute drive, Bangors Organic is only a 10 minute drive. The amazing Eden Project and Plymouth Aquarium are only an hours drive from Bude. Tintagel , the home of the legendary King Arthur, is only a 20 minute drive South. There are loads of really lovely places to visit locally with experiences ranging from tranquil to adrenalin packed.
The Bude area
Bude is famous for its Surfing and Watersports and historically for having the Bude Canal with its working sea lock. Much of the surrounding coastline is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The many sandy beaches around Bude have lifeguards during the summer season. Should the weather be temperamental then there is plenty to do inside too in the local area, swimming pool with slide, indoor children's play barn and bowling to name a few. The Jazz Festival, August Bank Holiday weekend, is a winner with Jazz being played in various venues in Bude.

A group of 13 of us stayed at Driftwood, ranging in age from 4 months to late 30s and all felt very comfortable and at home there. The property was perfect in every way. It was clean and tidy and very well equipped and only a short walk from the beach, supermarket and shops. We found we didn't use the living room much as most of our evenings were spent chilling out around the large dining table in the kitchen. The bedrooms were all very comfortable with clean bedding and plenty of storage and the bathrooms too, were very clean and stocked with plenty of clean, fluffy towels. All in all, we found Driftwood to be the perfect place to stay and definatley hope to return there one day. |
