While sunny during the day the patio area turns in to haven at night with garden furniture, a barbeque and outside lighting available.
Dogs are always welcome at Gleanings and the garden is fenced & completely secure.
Summer bookings are based on a Sunday to Sunday week.
Gleanings is available all year round.
The West Country region
A beach hut is currently available free of charge on Summerleaze beach which enjoys good surf, a sea-washed open air swimming pool and acres of open, sandy beach.
A beach cafe, restaurant, ice cream shop and toilets are all located nearby.
Dogs are permitted on the beach at all times but must be kept on a lead during the summer days. Times and more information can be found locally.
Middle Beach and Crooklets Beach are both within short walking distance and provide spectacular views across the bays. The North Cornwall bays boast some of the best surf in the country.
Widemouth Bay and Northcott Mouth are both accessible by foot over the cliff tops for those of you who enjoy stretching your legs!
You can also book a variety of lessons such as rock climbing, malibu surfing & canoeing with one of the local surf & adventure schools. A much welcome interest for both children and adults. All ages are welcomed.
Bude town centre is less than a ten-minute walk from Gleanings and boasts a good compliment of locally run shops, cafes and bars.
Eating out in Bude is a joy with many good public houses and restaurants all within walking distance.
Bude also enjoys a renowned 18 hole golf course. Holdsworth Golf course is a short drive away and for the less experienced golfers Ivyleaf (a five minute drive away) boasts an 18 hole course and driving range.
Other amenities in Bude worth mentioning are three supermarkets, an indoor swimming pool with a water slide, a bowling alley, a large play zone and an indoor motorised karting area.
The widely celebrated Eden Project is within easy reach of Bude and is well worth a visit at any time of year. We would also recommend the boat trips from Padstow Harbour where you can be privileged to see sea lions and dolphins swimming wild. There are also several adventure parks all within a short drive of Gleanings.
The historic towns of Tintagel, Boscastle, Port Isaac, Rock, Padstow and Clovelly are all within easy reach of Bude and are perfect day trips to let you explore the region. There are numerous venues for the dog walkers and the Tamar Lakes is a trip worth venturing on.

"Ideal base for exploring the area, close to beautiful beaches and the town"
Situated in a small quiet close, peaceful setting, within walking distance (10-15 mins) of the beaches and town. Uphill on the way back though, not a problem for me but husband and daughter found it a little difficult due to their health problems. Lovely secluded secure garden not overlooked, our dogs loved it. Real suntrap on the patio. Clean and comfortable, home from home, with all the amenities you need. Friendly neighbours, full of usefull information about the area and what is going on.
It suited our needs and couldnt have been any better for us personally.
