You will find this Georgian period farmhouse wonderfully secluded with both rural and coastal views. Positioned on the edge of our working farm, it only takes guest 15 minutes to stroll to the fabulously rugged Northcott Mouth beach, along our private farm lane. The beach offers superb surfing conditions, is lifeguard patrolled for swimmers in summer months and just simply offers such tranquility to just laze and 'be' with family or friends.

Overlooking the large gardens and wild orchard next door, the farmhouse offers so much space, with 9 bedrooms, 2 lounges (plus an additional 'Snug'), it has a large kitchen with original flagstone slate flooring which has been shaped over time,and once dinner is prepared everyone can gather around the large wooden dining table in the dining room, complete with wood burner to set the ambience.

Please note we are now able to offer a 4 x bedroomed Rural retreat just 800 yards away - accommodating up to 8+cots+pets plus our Cabin which is perfect for a couple's getaway - visit out website for full details and live avaialbility.

On the ground floor you have the large farmhouse kitchen with aga and double oven, leading directly through to the dining room with large table to sit all and wood-burner; the 'adults lounge' with stripped floorboards, leather sofas, widescreen TV/DVD player (& sky) overlooking the gardens, the hallway leads down to the gamesroom with pool table and table football and children's toys in the cellar then onto another larger carpeted lounge with woodburner, widescreen TV and patio doors leading directly onto the patio area, with picnic table and gas barbeque, offering a stunning view down the valley to the sea. Just around the corner, there are 2 single bedrooms, a twin bedroom, WC/shower room and bathroom. Not forgetting, the private anex next to the kitchen comprising of "snug" lounge downstair with stairs leading to a double bedroom with beamed ceiling.

There are front and back stairs leading to the first floor to 2 family en suite bedrooms, 2 double en suites and a single room plus family bathroom.

The cellar and back porch offers plenty of room for essential beach or outdoor gear.

This house truly is fully equipped in itself to provide the perfect package for large group gatherings, whatever age, enabling all to be under one roof, yet offering spacious living, with the added bonus of being just a stroll away from the beach.

We are toodler and baby friendly so upon request can provide all the essentials such as cots, highchairs, booster seats, bed-guards, fireguards, stair gates, monitor buggie/backpack hire aswell as a local company providing bike hire with free delivery, pickup and even breakdown service.

The patio has garden furniture to seat all, aswell as a large gas barbecue.

As well as the freedom to roam around the farm, the local beach and coastal paths, guests also have access to all our facilities at Court Farm, Marhamchurch, just 4 miles away where we have a indoor pool swimming pool, tennis court, children's play area and animals feeding/petting facilities

Short breaks can be taken between the end of September and Easter (excluding school holidays) and prices depend on the number of occupants and time of year.

Last minute short breaks may be available at short notice between April and September (if we have availability 2 weeks prior to desired travel date)

Guests often take day trips to the cornish fishing villages of Padstow,Port Issac,Boscastle and Clovelly in Devon as well as the 3 moors Exmoor,Dartmoor and Bodmin.There are numerous National trust places of interest such as lanhydrock,Cotehele and gardens including the famous lost gardens of Heligan,the Eden project,Rosemoor.
Cornwall with its glorious warm gulf-stream climate and spectacular beaches is the perfect place to relax and unwind as well as offering a great place to relax Cornwall is also famous for its great surfing,water sports,Golfing,mountain biking to name a few sporting activities.

The Bude area

From Northcott beach you can walk the Atlantic heritage coast along to Sandymouth, or if you are feeling extremely energetic – to Duckpool, or in the the other directly walk to the local town of Bude with its 2 blue-flag beaches.For the children, attractions like The big Sheep,Milky Way,Trethorne,Crearly park and Newquay or paigton zoo's are a short drive away as are Newquay or Plymouth Aquariums.Bude has many good surfing or rock pooling beaches, the coastline provides fantastic and healthy walks with pubs and local cafes along the way. Bude has many good quality restaurants including lifes a beach and elements,further a field is Rick steins or fifteen.

Guestbook for Lower Northcott Farmhouse

A group of nine of us, four couples and one single stayed at the farmhouse for five days for my 30th Birthday celebrations.

None of us could fault the accommodation, the farm, the location, the facilities, and the owners. The house was very well presented, smartly decorated, well equipped and most importantly the beds were all very comfortable. On arrival, the house was very warm and inviting, and all the rooms were spotless. I have stayed in 5* hotels around the world and felt far less comfortable for far more money than we paid for the farmhouse, so Kevin and his family should be highly complimented on their standard of accommodation. All areas of the property were well equipped from the kitchen equipment to the lounge with Sky TV and DVD player.

The facilities were excellent and kept us amused for hours and there were certainly no bored times! There was ample parking for all our cars, and in terms of location, the farm is ideally situated directly over the road from a well stocked village shop and also a very warm and friendly pub.

When it came to leaving, we all wished we could stay on for longer, but we will just have to make a return visit to Court Farm! It's a hard life. Thanks for having us!"
